Last night, I was outside, gazing at the stars... when a ghost came barrelling towards me, cackling and screaming! I ran to hide, and jumped behind a tree. The creature yelled and laughed, continuing on his way... It looked like a train coming toward me! Still... I can't help but think... could this be what I saw?

To be honest, I think this might be a Light/Ghost type, but if that doesn't make sense, it could be Electric/Ghost. I hope I can get some answers, in case this thing comes back...!

I saw it too. I had seen pictures of it in the news, so I wasn't afraid. I just threw a Master Ball at it that I won in the lottery (I always get something from that! :lol

) Well, the name of it is
Charghoul, and it is Light/Ghost Type. It was late when I caught it, so I went to bed, but is it related to the Phantom Candles? Well, I do know the species is Phantom Light Pokemon.

How about Photom (Phantom+Photon)
for a name? Is Phantom Light too long for a species name? If so, then how about Eerie Light pokemon?

I don't know Light/Ghost would be a good type combination for this pokemon considering the description you just gave. Also I do like the name Photom, rolls off the tongue nicely. Phantom Light is too long, but Eerie Light works.

Photom's also a good name, maybe I'll take it in to the Professor, see what he thinks of it. Charghoul makes me think of a Fire/Ghost type, however.

I did use it in battle, and it used Will-o-Wisp and Flash... mayhaps it learns Flash normally?

Oh! I was wrong! I checked back and the name was Photom, and it still was the Light/Ghost Type. It was the Eerie Light Pokemon. I managed Height as 4' 11", and Weight as 7.1 lbs. Here is a Dex.

PHOTOM are strong ghouls with an
eerie light hanging on the top of its'
head. It appears as a simple lantern
------------------------------------------
at night, but when the trainer learns
it is coming after him, he is struck
with fear, and runs away from the light.

He does not evolve, but he does know Curse and Crunch.

Judging from the looks of it, I think it might have the Levitate ability or Illuminate.

Hmm, the ability was Illuminate as you say! I just checked my dex this morning! It could also be Levitate! It also learns Follow Me.

I checked last night, I think this is the moveset!

Lv. 37-Curse
Lv. 40-Grudge
Lv. 44-Bite

Lv. 75-Pagan Rite

*=Demon Charge is a Ghost-Move. It's power is 60. The entire turn, all moves at it will miss. It takes powerful recoil, though.

I think it Phantern a new evolution of Lantern by trading with the new DP item Reaper Cloth(which evolves Dusclops) but you found it first i guess.

Is Luster Flash a steel move? If not, Photom should learn that and Signal Beam. And maybe Grudge.

Yes but this isn't Pokemon Treasures, and the design is different enough to warrant it's own pokemon.

Heh, I was just about to mention Glowve. (I realise this is a bit of a bump, I haven't been here in a bit)

The concept does seem different enough, plus (at this point anyways) PF and PT are in different canon. So yeah.

Photom's name sounds a little too similar to Rotom to me, and they even share the Ghost-type(But I'm not saying that you need to change its type). Plus you probably need to make all of it's info in DP format now, I think approvals in RSE are done.
