I was thinking about a poison/water type that is a sea cucumber....

Name:Nucumber (Nuclear
Classification:Cucumber
Type:Water/Poison
Desc: a long wormlike creature. It has a bunch of bristles with circular tips coming from all over the body. at the front end, the brisles get longer.
Dex: although it has
no eyes, it uses
it's bristle-like
-------------
suckers to feel
its way around
the sea.

A sea cucumber is an echinoderm without spines. It has tube feet, and can spray it's guts at enemies. It lives in the ocean. It's also a delicacy in Japan.

It doesn't look like at all like a cucumber.

Just curious, but what makes Nukumber nuclear?

well, it was hard to find a poison word that would fit with cucumber...and nuclear thing, are hazardous... so It was either-Nukumber or Nucumber- (Nuke=cucmber) or (Nuclear=cucumber)

nuclear has nothing to do with poison, though. Radiation don't poison you, it messes with your genes. No, I think this name would do better as a Grass/ Dragon type. Something Godzilla like. Godzilla was nuclear.

A nuclear...sea cucumber...okay...well, I did approve nuclear pokmon Raditom as Poison-type, but its strongest attack, NuclearBlast, is Fire-type. There's a limit to how well Poison portrays radiation and such.

The name is somewhat misleading. I came here thinking I'd have to close the topic because of the Grass ban. Botispine, oh local god of marine life, does the sea cucumber have a Latin species name that would work well?

By the way, BMP's dex has Thin Letter Syndrome...

I just happen to have the info here so, the scientific name for sea cucumber is; Cucumaria saxicola and there is another form of it with the name Pelagothuria and Myriotrochus. There are others if you can't come up with anything from those. I don't know the height and weight though. I couldn't find anything on that.

The suggestor contacted me over AIM and made the following changes:

Name changed to Kyukumber (from kyurri, Japanese for cucumber)

New pre-evo: Kiicumber, pure Water-type

There may have been more, but between the discussion and this post AIM crashed and I lost the window. I don't believe Kiicumber was complete, though, so it'll need to be fleshed out anyway. Also, as I said before, the name still suggests a grass-type vegetable too strongly.

But a sea cucumber is not related to the plant cucumbers at all. It is an echinoderm....like sea erchins or star fish. I, being the gopher, will try to look up sea cucumber names and etc.

I believe that sea cucumber is namako in Japanese...or close enough too...I might be mistaken, since I first heard it from Osaka of Azumanga Daioh she has a Kansai accent......(Yukari, the teacher had divided up two teams...herself and two students, and another student, Osaka, with two others...I'm not getting too specific...XD)
