Name: Preasel (Pre + Sneasel)
Category: Kitten
Height: 1'0"
Weight: 17 lbs
Type: Dark/Ice
Evolution: Evolves into Sneasel by happiness at night.
Appearance: It looks like a small Sneasel. It has no chest crest and it has only one tail which is half the size of one of Sneasel's tails. Its claws are much smaller and where Sneasel's big purple ear is, there's an ear smaller than Sneasel's small ear and lighter in color than Sneasel's big ear. It's nose is small and looks like an upside down triangle (EX:a small versian of Persian's nose)
Dex:
Often underesitimated
because of its cuteness
and small size.

Preasel only uses its claws
when in danger or when its
started. The extraction is by reflex.

Bonus: Since its mostly black, can hide under cover of darkness for protection.
(Also, can only be obtained by breeding a female Sneasel with a compatible Pokemon)

Ah, forget about messing up, this board is all about learning how to make the fake POKMON, in a sense. Everyone gets better in time and, in fact, most of the people here are seasoned creators...most are staff.

However, I think the main thing we need to look at is the dex. The standard dex size is 18x6. Thats 18 characters across, including spaces, for six lines. That however is easily fixed. The next thing we need to look at is why we need a sneasel pre-evolution. So far the dex starts out looking like most of the dexes here, a POKMON underestimated because of how cute or odd it looks, so I would have to say we need you to move away from that. Luckily for you, you included some more info that we can incorporate into the dex, the information about the claws. That, I can work with.

Also, can we think about the name a little more, it is a bit questionable, but it may work. It is up to Pory, really.

thats great ^_^ I just put the underesitmated part in because Sneasel is often underesitmated because of its low SA and Defense. And I named it Preasel because of other pokes named like that. EX: Magby, Elekid.

Well, Preasel is more unavoidably based on its evolved form than the others. Let me give you an example: someone a while ago posted a pre-evo of Mr. Mime that was one of those clown balloons that always springs up again when you hit it...it was called Jr. Mime...and it was not a mime in any way, shape or form. That was just a little too dependent on a future form, and could not be accepted with that name. Preasel's not that bad, though...in fact, I find it curiously easy to ignore the significance of the "Pre" in it.
I'm not certain about the type "Kitten", though. Isn't Sneasel based loosely on weasels? In any case, how many cat-related pokmon does the world really need?

Well, I choose "Kitten" soley on it being a Pre-evo of a Cat pokemon. (Sneasel means Sneak + Weasel, Weasel as in Double Crosser) But, something else could work, as well with the portrayal. And I made up this fake because Nintendo considered a Sneasel pre-evo for R/S but scrapped it for something else

Well, I was wondering if Sneasel is really a cat. I feel it's more related to a weasel, and I mean the animal. However, debates about a pokmon's real-world analog tend to last forever and go nowhere, so I'm not going to bother (PF old-timers may remember the "Eevee: Cat or Dog?" debate...ma,maMIA that was a pain.)
In any case, though, do you have any specific ideas for what else might work?

As I said before, I like this idea. So, I don't want this topic to die away!!!

How about just changing its classification to "Sharp Claw". That way you don't have the sneasel/kitten problem anymore!

A ban has been placed on all cat pokmon since this was originally posted. However, not only does the initial posting predate the rule, I still hold to my opinion that Sneasel is not truly a cat. Approved as #PF283.
