From the beginning, before I could even walk, I was asking both people and Pokemon hundreds of questions. The people didn't really understand what I was saying till I got older. Most adults assumed it was just baby babble. Pokemon listened, though, and they spoke back. And I could understand it. I don't remember my time as a baby, but my parents told me I would babble for hours to the house Herdier, and it would bark back in response. But even as I got older, my gift persisted. I could talk to Pokemon, and I did as much as I could. Put two and two together, and you'd get a Professor. At least in my young mind. How could it hard? I could ask Pokemon what I wanted to know.
I learned quickly that it wasn't that simple. Turns out that you can't ask a Pokemon about its anatomy; They often didn't know. You needed some heavy science to back you up if you wanted to go anywhere in the field. I guess thats why there're aren't so many Professors.. So I put on my glasses and got to work. It certainly wasn't easy, but I got through high school with A's in the Maths and Sciences.
Then I went to University. Everything was going smoothly, until about halfway through. My parents had lost their jobs and couldn't help me pay for college. The University didn't offer financial aid beyond scholarships, which wasn't enough. I had to put my education on hold and get a job to pay for the rest of college. Thankfully there was a lab a ways out of town that was looking for assistants. Good pay too. I called them and sent them my resume. They called me back before the day was over.
Now its a year later, and it turns out the lab was controlled by some criminal syndicate called "Team Lotus". Who knew. Anyway, since they consider their work Top Secret, I'm not allowed to leave. They don't even pay me that much, saying that most of my salary was going to housing and food. I actually believe that...the food is good around here. Regardless, I'm still trapped here. So I, Axel Novae, seem to be in quite a predicament. Wait, I hear people shouting downstairs.
I think I should check it out.
