Hey guys, so here's some back story on this project. My girlfriend recently got into Pokemon and after seeing me on the forums and seeing some of my ancient designs, she decided she wants to make a Fakedex with me. She's not on the forums just yet, but maybe I can talk her into joining later on... Maybe XD She's an amazing artist (see her dA page HERE) and currently pursuing that talent through university so she draws the Pokes while I design them. Anyway, we hope you like the designs we've come up and all feedback is welcome.

#1 Florony
Foal Pokemon
Type: Grass
Ability: Overgrow
Height: 50 centimeters
Weight: 22 kilograms

Dex: This starter Pokemon is usually chosen by female trainers, because of its rather cute appearance. Many are quite surprised when it evolves.

Name origin: FLOra + poNY

Evolution: Level 15 ----> ???

#4 Flaret
Tiny Bat Pokemon
Type: Fire
Ability: Blaze
Height: 30 centimeters
Weight: 7 kilograms

Dex: Flaret is another popular starter, and is often seen on their trainers shoulders. They cannot fly, thanks to their small wing size, but can glide.

Name origin: FLARE + baT

Evolution: Level 17 ----> ???

#7 Slypent
Snake Pokemon
Type: Water
Ability: Torrent
Height: 1 meters
Weight: 9 kilograms

Dex: A slippery Pokemon, Slypent likes to curl around it's trainers when bonding. Unfortunately, this often leads to injuries inflicted on the trainer.

Name origin: SLide + serPENT

Evolution: Level 16 ----> ???

Florony is simple, but sufficient---some Generation I Pokémon are as simple in design.

Thanks for your kind words, Coolsteph. We're going for some simple ones, but as they will never be in a game, we can go as complicated as we want as well.

Since our grass starter line is still a WIP. Here is the Flaret line...

#5 Volame
Bat Pokemon
Type: Fire
Ability: Blaze
Height: 55 centimeters
Weight: 30 kilograms

Dex: It's wings are now strong enough to fly with, but not for long. When angry, the flame-shaped appendage on it's tail is heated to extreme temperatures to attack with.

Name Origin: VOLer (French for flying) + flAME

Evolution: Level 34 ---->

#6 Infrernox
Inferno Pokemon
Type: Fire/ Flying
Ability: Blaze
Height: 1 meter 25 centimeters
Weight: 65 kilograms
Dex: Gaining a significant boost in power Infernox is now much large and powerful. The flame on it's tail can be soaked in water and still be alight.

Name Origin: INFERNO + foX (as in Flying Fox)

Evolution: Fully evolved.

Flaret looks much better in the new pictures. In the first picture, (the one on the first post) it looked like it was going to crash.

Its Hippopotas-like nostrils are unusual, but I like Pokémon with whimsy. Besides, it could be a reference to the tube-nosed bat.

The third image with Flaret in it seems to depict Flaret with different ears. (It has no distinct ear insides. It has only plain wedges for ears.) I prefer the ears with distinct ear insides.

The upper picture in the third Flaret-containing image makes Flaret's resemblance to Disney (or was it Chuck Jones?) animal designs apparent. (It has big eyes, a large, sloping forehead, and a rounded face design.) I do not like Pokémon which look too cartoony and blandly happy, (Emolga) but I admit even that drawing of Flaret holds more appeal for me than Woobat.

I like the first image of Infernox more than the second. The first image gives Infernox distinct, intelligent but sort of happy-looking eyes. I also like the first image's slanting forehead and slender snout more; it makes Infernox look foxlike. While I like dragons, the second image makes what should resemble a flying fox look too dragonish. Infernox's legginess feels awkward.

Volame looks cute, but competent, as I like my Pokémon.

I also like the folds of the line's wings in the second art.
