I'm having a bit of trouble with the fact that one is unable to obtain a Fossil Pokemon until after they have defeated the Elite Four. Can someone please explain to me (and to others who might also be having the same question) why this is so, because it seems very unnecessary for such a trivial matter to take such a long time.
