And I'm quite surprised that you would ask how it could open its mouth to use "oral" beam attacks, and yet not consider how it can possibly feed itself! The answer to both is that those stitches aren't really stitches at all, but are instead a set of sinewy wattle-like structures that are quite stretchable. That they look like stitches is simply so that people can tell that this pokemon is mute. It's like how loudred has sound wave-shaped stripes on its back, or how floatzel has blue fins and a teardrop-shaped mark over its belly-button.
