first off, who did this stunt actually hurt? hell, i bet nobody would've even made remotely any kind of deal over it if it wasn't for the swastika image. hell, the swastika image wasn't even racist. it was just swastikas. it would've been crossing the line had he actually said something like "hitler was right" or "black people are pretty bad eh", but all he did was post unicode swastikas on a fake forum quote pyramid. that's not really strike-worthy. was anyone actually emotionally hurt by the thread? did anything bad actually happen to anyone? everyone's just getting ants in their pants because they're sick of jdl doing jdl dumbantics, which is fair enough, but at least complain about that specifically and not try to bring out a small insignificant thing like it's the be-all and just generally be wrong

fair enough treating it as the straw that broke the donkey's back but at least treat it like that, and not something else

also, jdl doesn't get off scot free for anything. he's had plenty of punishments - some of them more abstract and not that direct than others - that don't happen on the pf forums that you guys get to see, but they happen. he's had plenty of indefinite bans in #pokengine, for example, but someone (BONZAI) always overturns them. and even more than just that. so it's not like he gets away with whatever he wants

it is backseat modding still though, because you're telling the staff what they need to do, and making decisions like "jdl gets a strike" for them like you even have the authority to decide that.
