Meanwhile, Gecko was still sleeping. Having traveled all day, he was too tired to be awoken easily by a bit of faraway screaming.
Zip's Poké Ball, on the belt hung by the bedpost, opened to release Zip. Zip stretched, then hopped onto the bed.

"Mud." Zip muttered to the sleeping Gecko. Gecko continued sleeping.

Zip poked Gecko's face, but several pokes only made Gecko turn over and quietly groan.

Exasperated, Zip leaned near Gecko's ear and shouted. Gecko, instantly awoken, exclaimed in displeasure. He groggily sat up to identify what woke him and glared at Zip.

"What?"

"Mud. Mud kip."

"We've been through this before. I can't understand you."

After some lengthy, baffling (and frankly embarrassing) pantomiming on Zip's part, Gecko finally understood. He got up and walked to the door, Zip by his side.

"Bathrooms are on the first floor...bad design. So, er, do you want to go in some bushes, or do they have special Pokémon---"

Gecko saw an injured blond girl on the couch and the distressed Nurse Joy. It stunned him to see the formerly deadpan Nurse Joy so emotional.

"I'd help you with that if I could, but I don't know how long Zip can hold it. Where do the Pokémon...go to the bathroom?" Gecko asked Nurse Joy.

Kip not caring much for the girl considering she has tie in's with Tremaine fell back to sleep on the couch parallel to the girl. He heard the distance sound of Gecko's voice, but shurgged it off and continued his sleep.

The Nurse Joy gave a clearly confused look.

"No one...has ever asked me that question before...I guess they go in the bushes or something..."

Her focus then came back to the girl, only to realize that Kip was sleeping.

She walked up to the sleeping boy, and screamed,

"WAKE UP!!!!"

"From what I've heard, Tremaine treats her step-daughter in a cruel and sick way-forcing her to clean the entire Gym; only giving small portions of food for dinner; and not treating her to wounds or illness. We don't know why she's doing this to the poor girl...all we know is that she ran away, and now it is very important that we do not tell anyone other than the Rominel Cyber Security-they will take good care of her. Understand?"

"How do we tell Rominel Cyber Security? Email, phone call, smoke signal?" Gecko asked, trying to be helpful. It did occur to him that Tremaine could have simply put her step-daughter up for adoption, but he wanted to be helpful. Nurse Joy had much conviction in her claim that Rominel Cyber Security would help.

"Don't worry about that," the Nurse Joy stated, "I'll take care of that, since they're not too far from here. And, even though I know that the Rominel Cyber Security will help, I do not know if they will be successful; Tremaine has a lot of power on the government of Rominel for a Gym Leader, and we don't know if she will file in a complaint on them...if not destroy them..."

Zip came back inside. Zip hopped onto the couch with the girl. "Mud, Mud."

"Zip, I can't understand you."

Zip rolled its eyes, grumbled, and tilted its tail towards the stairs. "I'll be going to bed too." Gecko stated. Fortunately, Zip didn't complain.

Nurse Joy noticed the Mudkip snuggling next to Serenity.

"Aw, that's so sweet...your Mudkip wants to protect Serenity. Well, you'll need help."

She then pulled out a Pokeball, and, after releasing it, revealed to be a small, hula-girl like Pokemon.

"Bellossom, help Mudkip protect this girl. Okay?"

"Bell!"

Early morning came, and yet the girl still showed no signs of waking up yet. Luckily, a member of the Rominel Cyber Security came in.

"Excuse me?" the man asked, shaking Kit awake. "Is this Tremaine's step-daughter?"

Zip paused for a moment, but the man did not seem to understand. Frustrated, Zip rushed up the stairs and tried to awaken Gecko, hoping Gecko would wake quicker than Kit.
