Speculation towards the "special use" of Rookiroo's evolution:
1. Their pouches stretch across the shoulders in the form of bandoliers. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandolier) Their pouches are loaded with egg ammunition. (or goo, to be a little more...visceral and accurate with the contents of actual kangaroo pouches.)
2. The male's pouch stretches across his hips and resembles boxer shorts. The female's pouch is so distended she frequently drapes it over her head and wears it as a parka.
3. The pouch swells, droops and becomes a giant, toothy mouth. Rookiroo's evolution uses it to chase away humans who try to make australus* out of them. (*http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australus)
4. The male's pouch *bzzzt kaaahaaaahaaaa* forms a big romantic dinner table.
5. Their heads drop off when they evolve. They use their pouches to carry their goo-sodden heads around while keeping their hands free for picking up objects.
6. Only female Rookiroo evolve because their pouches are actually parasites, which distort their host's body to spread their spores. They become a big pouchy snakelike creature when they evolve.
7. They grow an extra arm from their pouch, making them "POW!-ches."
8. Their pouches lengthen and become more detached from their bodies to form a vacuum-cleaner-like hose.
