"If you choose the path of a Pokmon Trainer, you will begin in the class of Prof Idaho (now Aaron) in the town of Anchore. (or you can begin arriving by ship in Anchore port, or arriving from another town, either way you have to head to class in Anchore) There is one more class to complete before graduation and the time has come to make your choice. There has been a recent complication, however: Prof Idaho was recently called away on business, so the lab and the school are under the custody of the professor's protg, Aaron. He will be taking care of you in the weeks to come until Prof Idaho's return. (Not necessarily canon anymore)
So, which Pokmon will you choose?
Youthistle- This grass type is very friendly and will take right to a new trainer. They do not like to be handled too much, and with all the needles, you probably wouldn't cuddle it much either. It's the Grass type with Thornado, a vicious twisting dervish, being its Grass/Wind type final form.
Comolten- A fire type is a great way to get a head start. This comet Pokemon is very fast and can be a handful to keep track of, but it is otherwise loyal and obedient. It is a pure Fire type that eventually becomes the mighty Asterore, a Fire/Steel type.
Sukus- Trainers searching for a challenge should choose this water type. This leech Pokemon is slow and often disobedient and mischievous with inexperienced trainers, but if trained properly will grow into quite a formidable ally. Trainer be warned, Sukus are blood suckers. They are consistently of the Water type, but Myrath's access to Bug, Poison, tricks and raw power is nothing to scoff at.
Holliguana- This grass type is very friendly, and willingly obeys even the most inexperienced trainers, sometimes to its own detriment. In bright sunlight, it tends to become lethargic. It is consistently of the Grass/Poison type, ending the line with Missoto.
Xoskillitn- This Fire type is a challenge to raise because of its burning/venomous stin, but will turn into a strong, fast fighter. Handling too much is not recommended; not only does it have a pair of sharp pincers, it also excretes a flammable liquid from its rear when surprised, or frightened. Or worried. Or just cold. It likes fire... It is of the Fire/Poison types and likes you to get its name right. Don't worry, Clawrion is much easier to say, although by then, you may visit the Pokemon Center more than once.
Ninemone- This Anenome Pokemon is timid, but good natured. If you have patience to deal with a Pokemon that would rather hide behind its defense than attack, this is the Pokemon for you - it evolves faster than others quickly into a strong companion. It is the Water type but upon fully growing into Enemone, it becomes very violent with a Dark nature.
Nutreed- This Pokemon is encased in a special fruit that nourishes it, because it is too weak to seek out its own food. The small brown stem-structure on top of its fruit-like casing draws oxygen from the air around it. Despite the sac, it is still pretty durable and quite active. Nutreed is a Grass type but will one day become Ourobotine, a Grass/Psychic giant snake.
Agunni- A loyal pokemon that is often found in deserts. White smoke trails behind it, wherever it goes. Surely, a warm companion for those long journey roads. This Fire type eventually becomes Djignitor, a Fire/Ghost Pokemon.
Cherippo- It protects the river it calls home fiercely. Its round, smooth body gives it a natural advantage in the water. When it evolves it gets another distinct advantage... in the air. It's initially a water type but the Wind-secondary Hippache would deny such claims.
Random- There are a few other Pokeballs that we have laying around. They could contain anything from a Aipom to a Zigzagoon. You will not know what you are getting. Good for trainers who like surprises.

Authorities have given a press release:
Quote:
There are three crime syndicates for trainers to beware of. And they didn't move in recently; operatives have infiltrated most organisations on the island. Here is what we know.
Team Lotus: Led by a martial arts master. Members use Psychic-types, and while they are not violent in themselves, do not hesitate to use pokmon to hurt people.
Team Uppercut: Led by a burly street-fighter. Members use Fighting-types, and are usually petty criminals who had nowhere else to go.
Team Shadow: Led by a master thief. Members use Dark-types, and are usually experienced thieves who are greedy for more.
teams have been known to exploit pokmon for monetary gain, but it is suspected that they each have a bigger goal. It is not known whether these are linked.
