Holly impatiently waited outside the lab, with her cheeky Gothita sitting on her shoulder, pulling her hair out of boredom. She had just finished her adventure in the Unova region and had returned to her home region of Bombur for a new adventure, but with just one problem. Her recently hatched Gothita (Level 5 female with Miracle Eye egg move, well, it would allow Confusion to work on Nevermore...) who was still playing around with her hair, had stubbornly refused to stay behind and had demanded to come with her. She was waiting outside the lab for the professor, who seemed to be pretty busy in there, so she could ask if it could be used as her starter for this region.
After what felt like hours to the impatient goth, the door opened, and she looked at whoever opened it.
All she knew, was that he wasn't the professor.

"Hi there, sorry for the wait," the man said to the young girl, "You were probably expecting Prof. Idaho, but, as you can see, I am not him. He's off on one of his frivolous excursions, I suppose. My name is Aaron, his assistant." This topic of conversation obviously made him disgruntled, but he quickly changed it.

"I assume you are here to receive your starting Pokem--" he stopped short, suddenly noticing the little Psychic-type upon her shoulder, "Nevermind that; I didn't see your little partner there. Is it level 5 or below? That is the only way it can qualify, I'm afraid. We can solve that question if you'll just recall your friend and place its pokeball in the slot on that machine over there." He gestured to a machine in the corner of the room and walked toward it, wanting her to follow.

After being frowned at by her pokemon, she recalled it into the pokeball and followed Aaron to the machine.
Holly put Gothita's Pokeball in and it's moves came up on the screen

GOTHITA:

LEVEL 5
FEMALE
FRISK
PSYCHIC

MOVES:

Pound [Nrm]
The foe is physically pounded with a long tail or a foreleg, etc.

Confusion [Psy]
The target is hit by a weak telekinetic force. It may also leave the target confused.

Miracle Eye [Psy]
Enables a Dark-type target to be hit by Psychic-type attacks. It also enables an evasive target to be hit.

"All right, then," Aaron half-said half-mumbled as he meandered around his office over to his desk and eventually into a dark other room through a door near the machine. A few seconds passed before the girl heard him yell back, "Do you think you could come help me in here, my dear? I could really use a hand; it might prove difficult for me to do this by myself!"

Holly nodded, took the pokeball out of the machine, and ran over to Aaron.
"What do you need help with?" she said.

As the young girl rounded the corner to enter the dark room, she looked for Aaron but could not see past a few feet. All of a sudden all the arena lights flipped on, and Holly's face was slowly overcome by an expression of surprise.

"Didn't expect those arena lights to come on, did you?" Aaron rhetorically joked, "This Lab doubles as Bombur's first Pokemon Gym, and what I need your help with is the battle. I can't very well have a Pokemon battle on my own. Therefore, you are needed, kapish?"
