Pokémon Factory Worker

((No one has been moderating this forum, I dont know what happened to the other staff in my absence but they appear to have poofed.))

A young man in a lab coat looked up at his visitor, and smiled warmly.

"Ah, hello there, you must be Michael. I was expecting you. How are you today?"

"Indeed I am," the blonde assistant quipped up, "I understand you want to start your journey as a Pokemon Trainer, am I correct? Well, we have a variety of Pokemon available here. Anything you were particularly interested in seeing for a starter Pokemon? I can't guarantee we have what you're looking for, but we certainly aren't low on variety."

(Maybe it could have an egg move. Nothing damaging, maybe just Disable or something.)

"Ah, the ghostly Fire-type starter, I see," remarked the lab aide. Aaron then proceeded to point to a table behind him, and the boy chose a pokeball from the section of the table marked "Agunni." Aaron instructed the young man, "Do you see that machine over there? If you go and place your pokeball in that slot on the front, you can learn a little more about your companion there."

Michael took the Pokeball, thinking hard for a few seconds, then puts the pokeball in the machine's slot.

"Lets see what this little guy can do"

As soon as the pokeball clicked into place, the machine booted up and the screen brightened, information appearing before their eyes. The young man's lips could be seen mouthing the words as he read them silently.

Agunni:

The foe is physically pounded with a long tail or a foreleg, etc.

Growl [Nrm]

The user growls in an endearing way, making the foe less wary. The target’s ATTACK stat is lowered.

After a short while of this, Aaron quizzed the boy on the information just for fun. He did excellently. "Well, is there anything special you want to call your new partner?" Aaron asked as he went over to his desk and shuffled through a drawer for some paper or another.

"No, it's alright as it is." Michael said, as he let out his new pokemon. He noticed that it had a serious personality and nature when he greeted it, and that it seemed pleased with it's trainer.

"Okay then, that just leaves one last order of business," Aaron said as he slammed the drawer as if he couldn't find what he was looking for, "Ugh." He power-walked out from behind his desk and through another door, yelling back after a few seconds, "Follow me, would you?" The young man shrugged and walked through the open door and shut it behind him. When he shifted his focus away from the door and to what was in front of him, he looked caught off guard. "Didn't expect a battle, did you now," exclaimed the lab aide, "Step into that box in front of you, and then we can begin this last little formality, Mkay?"

"Unexpected, but I'd best get used to this as a trainer. Okay then, lets go." he replied, making his way to the box with Agunni following him. "Best get onto the field, Agunni. Looks like we're gonna battle. You ready?"

"Ag Ag Agunni" Agunni replied, getting onto the field with a very determined look in its eyes.

"We're ready when you are Aaron." said Michael, looking almost as determined as his Pokemon.

"Age before beauty, eh? Hah, let us begin. Nevermore lead with a Peck!" Aaron cast the ball, which opened spewing red light that formed into the already charging bird PKMN. Nevvv nev'or! it screamed in acknowledgement as it swooped toward the opposing Fire-type.

"Guni!" Agunni called out as one of it's arms turned white, rushing in to block the bird.

((Please, give me a little more description to work with during the battle, it makes it WAY more fun/bearable/

Nevermore's glowing extended beak made contact with the glowing arm of Agunni, which sent Agunni skidding backwards a bit and the bird PKMN pitching through the air until it managed to regain its balance. It chirped in annoyance at the Fire-type's guard attempt. "Okay, stay on the offensive, Nevermore, with a Tackle! We'll see how good you're Defense really is here and whether it actually is the best offense." The Dark/Flying-type rushed its foe once more, doing a little more fancy flying this time in case another guard attempt should arise.

Agunni looked nervously at the flying target, knowing that another Pound block would be too difficult to pull off. "Agu..." it called.

Michael noticed this, and decided to try something else. "Try and slow it with a Growl!" Agunni readied the attack, taking a breath, then loosing a loud growl.
"I hope this works" Michael thought, and from the look Agunni had on it's face while growling, it did too.

Agunni's Growl hid mid-flight and distracted the little bird PKMN, causing it to veer slightly and only clip its foe with a wing. Little to no damage was done by the attack, and Aaron facepalmed at his essentially wasted attack. However, Nevermore was still in close proximity to its opponent, and Aaron decided to capitalize, "Nevermore, offensive-style, one more time. Tackle it!" Shaking off the earlier distraction, the bird PKMN re-locked its target and headed in for the attack.

Michael looked on at the battlefield, glad that his plan worked, but he didn't have time to feel glad. As long as Nevermore was up in the air, it had an advantage. Thinking about this, he called "Agunni! Jump up and knock it to the ground with a Pound!", hoping that Agunni could pull it off.
With some newfound confidence after the last move, Agunni jumped up, arm glowing white, and prepared to counter the attack and strike its Flying opponment down to the ground, where it might stand a better chance of a win.

Aaron was both surprised and excited at the ingenuity and awareness of his beginner opponent. It always made him smile to see young trainers develop in battle. He snapped back to reality simultaneously to Agunni reaching the peak of its jump and beginning to descend toward his Nevermore. "Veer up! Get out of the way!" Nevermore changed its trajectory just in time to avoid the attack, but the angle of its ascent was so steep that its Peck attack had gotten lodged into the ceiling where it was now stuck. Wriggling and rotating its beak, Nevermore just could not seem to break free from its awkward predicament.

Agunni Pounded the ground, knocking some of the turf out, wondering where the Dark/Flying type went. It then heard something above and looked up at the ceiling to see it's trapped opponment.

Michael smiled slightly, the decided to capitalise on the situation. "Knock some of the turf at it with a Pound!", knowing that Agunni couldn't normally reach it's foe from up there
Agunni picked up some of the turf in one hand, threw it in the air, and knocked them towards the struggling bird with it's glowing white hand.

*HIT-HIT-HIT* The unsuspecting and defenseless bird PKMN was struck by something... dirt clods? All Nevermore knew was that they stung, however, the impact had enough force that it jarred the dark bird's beak free from its trapped position. Nevermore began flying--well, it was more falling, but it caught itself--immediately, and Aaron perked up a little, relieved that his situation was no longer so dire. Then again, he wished his PKMN hadn't had to take so much damage to escape it.

"Well, then, Nevermore, now that all that jazz is dealt with, how about giving Agunni a little Peck!" The bird PKMN chirped in acknowledgement and began darting in at its foe, its beak extended by an aura-like projection.

Michael had a feeling that Aaron would expect another Pound block from Agunni, and decided to try another trick with the field.
Getting an idea, he called, "Keep hitting the ground with Pounds to create a dust cloud, then Growl to blow it at Nevermore!"
Agunni understood, and hit the ground several times with it's arms, creating a lot of dust, then Growled, blowing the dust at the foe.

((Well, since Agunni doesn't have Smokescreen yet, this will have to do))
