Apparently I realized we no longer have a normal, tutorial-esque post for the RPG. My first dedicated bit of work for PF since August:
HELP I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO BE DOING, WHERE'S THE DOWNLOAD LINK?! Y U MAD BRO, STOP TROLLING MEH!!!!
My honest answer? You sit down and hush so I can explain this for you.
The Pokemon Factory is NOT devoted to making games, it is a fanbased fakemon creation community. We have no ties to Nintendo nor do we have any experience (except me and Bonzai as I am aware) with programming on any game engine.
So, guess what, there's no game, there's no download link, so what's the deal?
The way the RPG works is the same way role-playing works on an instant messenger client. Honestly, we should stop calling it the RPG and just call it The PFL Role Play but no one listens to me anyway so...
Anyway, my QQ-ing aside, you play a trainer or a pokemon resident of Bombur region (PF's fictional world) and you are allowed to create topics and posts relating to your character. In other words, you're writing a fanfic. Get used to it. The idea however is that trainers and wild pokemon are actual existences in this RP. So my character can interact with other characters in the role play without requiring to stay within his own topic. People tend to like to organize though and stick within their own topic a bit too often, honestly it's kind of unnecessary and a disappointment.
The PFL is basically a ARG (alternate reality game) role play so you have freedom to do whatever you want within our rules and the PFL forum. However, in general it's considered courteous to play fair, be polite, and not be a ... well yeah.
example of BAD behavior:
Hazzamon wrote: "Mudkip used water gun and blasted a powerful jet of aqua towards cyndaquil!"
DeckuZora wrote: "Cyndaquil dodged it easily, used fire blast and won in a single move because he's pro and you fail and also, cyndaquail burnt yo fais!"
example of GOOD behavior:
JDLJDL wrote: "The Pelipper swooped in to attack poor Treecko and the other Pokemon!"
DeckuZora wrote: "Treecko tried to defend its friends from the Shadow Pokemon onslaught, hopefully, they could escape in one piece!"
-Also of note, if the other players don't mind, it is acceptable to take control of a situation in order to advance the plot, however, generally it's considered impolite and it should be safer to ask beforehand.
-To be noted, if you're playing on your own, it is up to YOU to advance the story. Instant haxor flying through the story will be considered non-canon however and other players will most likely ignore your posts. If another player steps in, treat them as a co-author to your story line.

The Plot of the Pokemon Factory League: None, this is a free form, role play as a human trainer in the world of Bombur, typically however, people who wish to compete as trainers start as a trainer who lives or is visiting anchore town to get their first Pokemon from Prof. Idaho or Aaron. Directly after, they will be challenged to battle by Aaron, who as it happens is the PFL's first gym leader. We ask you at least notify a staff member when you begin your journey. That staff member will instruct you how to proceed. There are many threats to trainers in Bombur, but the biggest ones are known as the Evil Organizations Team Uppercut, Team Shadow and Team Lotus as well as the vigilante thief, Cain Songsun as well as your own personal rival character.
The Plot of the Free Spirits: The free spirits are Pokemon of Bombur and you, my friend, are a Pokemon. It's not Mystery Dungeon, you were never a person, but you can interact with the other Pokemon in Bombur. The overlying threat of Shadow Pokemon and the decent of Gork and Exodus has threatened your home, it's up to you to defend your home or conquer it.
