The forum now has type bars as extra smilies! Feel free to suggest any additional little images that might be useful. Oh, there's a thought...
...the [Pokebucks]

okebucks symbol has also been added.

The types are a colon and then the type, so ;fire with a : instead of a ;.
Pokebucks is P and then an equals sign.

Perhaps "smilies" can be made for evolution icons, such as the "Trade" (

) icon?
More specifically, these evolution icons:

Added some more by popular request on IRC. I may add some of the evolution icons as Coolsteph suggests, but it won't be all of them because of the huge workload.

That said, I've added more than you can see in the menu. Some are secret!

it annoys me that they're case-sensitive though, ah well.
