How did they have too many Signature Moves? Only the last move on each of their move lists was intended to be a Signature Move. I fully intended for all the other new moves in there to be used with other Pokemon at a later point in time. However, on the point of the compass point winds, North already exists (in the form of Suicune), and I think there's a West Wind somewhere (but I can't quite remember)... Anyways, this is all a moot point. Congratulations, Patricol!

I was about to say that Clear Smog should be added to Uphoria, but I looked up its description to be sure... and it's special mud. It is not learned by a single Ground type, and smog is not mud in any way. I just had to rant it... but speaking of which, Uphoria isn't a word.

Clear Smog has the same naming structure as Hone Claws. It's a special mud that clears smog and other stuff, kind of like using charcoal to remove bad odors from a fridge. How Clear Smog itself resets stat changes though I don't know, but that's beside the point.

EDIT:
New theory: Looking at the animation, I think it was meant to be some kind of smoke or gas in the Japanese version. However it had a weird engrish name that got carried over during localization for some reason, so they just retconned the method of executing the move into mud that still somehow fits the name for the reason stated above. Is that plausible?

Yep, anime confirms it's a gas. But I can see how it can be justified as something that clears "smog", rather than being transparent smog.
It's kind of like an odour removal spray isn't it?

Changing it from mud to gas pretty much clears everything *gets shot for bad pun*. Just as Smog does, the gas itself clears the stat changes and does damage. Funny how one word can mess up the whole machine.

Yes, because the special mud clears smog. I don't understand how that makes it a Poison-type move, or how it removes stat changes considering Haze (which the anime clearly depicts as smoke) does it too, but SCD said he changed the description from mud to gas, which would change the title to the adjective form and make a load more sense.

I don't know what's wrong with it being gas and still having a verb-based name.
To clarify (Only my current theory on it):
In japanese, it's supposed to be a gas and its name is Clear Smog (which is most like engrish on their part or perhaps due to character constraints) but I'm unsure if it means transparent smog or the action of clearing away smog.
In english, it's been retconned to a "mud" with the japanese name carried over and it probably means the action of clearing away smog but now via the use of a special absorptive mud.

Wow, I know I didn't get to vote this contest but I did tell you all before I up and disappeared, you really shouldn't have discredited Patricol right off the bat. And I do seem to very strongly recall everyone "correcting" me and claiming I was "trolling" when I announced Patricol's was my favorite. I DID tell you all to read and come up with creative pokemon.

Congrats though to the participants. We in no way meant to harm anyone's feeling of self worth (I do believe posting negative results was nasty...) and hope you all see this as a learning experience.

To those of you who posted artwork, I was already counting points against most of you since the recent 'artwork > creativity' trend was starting to become apparent, however, I must say a lot of you have developed quite well as artists and under no circumstances do I want any of you artists to stop suggesting with artwork to go with it. (But you do not require someone to draw a picture for every Pokemon you suggest, we feel it stifles the creativity of our less visually artistic users.)

HOWEVER, it should be noted that we do not need any of the following in the staff room at the time: Concept Artists, spriters.

At the time means if someone goes missing (aka probably me or Darkwolf Cor), a position may open up.

What do we need? I think we actually do need dex technicians and moderators for the PFL but... well, I'm not sure if I'm the only one who believes that or not. Also, I'm not sure if I can illicit help from the user base without the staff majority consent. Anyone with questions on what we may or may not need should send me a pm (since the people you probably should ask will not appreciate their inboxes being flooded)

I would say, actually, that we always need more spriters, since that's the biggest bottleneck in creating suggesters' pokemon. And we've just taken some steps regarding dex tech, which we'll be talking about publicly soon.

As for the negative points, in retrospect I think we should have posted more critique, since criticism is nothing without steps to improve. I may post my opinions and critiques later on.
