You don't need puictures, good descriptions are just as good. In fact, in some ways they're better, since our concept artists can work freely with it rather than having their ideas clouded.

I don't understand the stigma against text descriptions nowadays. Everybody and their mother seems to feel they need to have a picture, even if it's hastily made in Paint (No offense to people who regularly do this, but yeah...).

Is Painful Cure's power (when doubled) 130, or is its base power 130? If its base power is 130, that move is too powerful.
Baskicane's typing does not make sense. (Neither does Palkia's typing as a Water-type, unless one incorporates the notion that space---"outer space"---is like the ocean)

Coolsteph: Actually, I want Painful Cure's power to be devestating when the opponent is paralyzed/poisoned/burned, but your right, 130 is too powerful. I'll dull it down a little. Also about Baskicane's typing, I know it doesn't make sense, but I couldn't think of anything else that had to do with miracle cures other than

Hello, firedarkshay, I have never seen you on here before, so welcome! However, on the subject of your suggestion, I have some suggestions/points. It clearly states that this legendary contest is held for a legendary duo ON PAR with latios/latias or cresselia/darkrai, which have a base stat total of 600. There is also a large gap in the move list between moves, you might want to lessen the number of levels between them, perhaps a 5 level gap between moves? You also need 2 dexes per suggestion, I think the limit of which is 85-105 but I'm not positive. Additionally, although the creativity behind Prolonged Flood is nice, it is OPed. 200 is simply too high of a power level, even for a move learned so late IMHO. I do like the art, however!

These are based off of simple weather phenomena.

Destaria (DEsert+duST+ ARIA, a musical term translating to 'air')

Description- Sandy brown in color. Humanoid torso, arms, and head. The arms end in hands with three fingers and a thumb. The head has no facial features other than a pair of stern-looking bright green eyes. Instead of legs, the lower body is a tail-like extension of the body, similar to a tornado in shape. Where the end of this "tail" touches the ground, a cloud of dust can be seen. Coming off the top of the head is an extension similar to the lower body. Faint clouds of dust are coming from various locations on the body and tail.
Dex 1: It dwells in deserts, protecting travelers from harm. As such, ancient people worshipped it.
Dex 2: It is believed that its singing heralds sandstorms, as it is always heard before severe ones.

JUDGEMENT IS UPON US!

Eight staffers have voted for this contest. We've been rather strict in our judgement and our votes were based on the three central rules:
•Must be legendaries
•Must be a duo like Lati@s (two similar pokemon) or Cresselia/Darkrai (two opposites thematically linked), not just two unrelated pokemon.
•Not a cloud or Wind-type because it floats; should not be feasible as a Flying-type.
along with the usual coolness we want to see in suggestions.

We've used a numerical point sysem to judge the entries. These points are based on both how good the suggestions is, and how well it fit the criteria of the contest. The possible points are as follows: yes = +1, yes/maybe = +0.5, maybe = 0, no/maybe = -0.5 and no = -1.

Here are the results per entry:

AlphaAquarii and Rahjet nab silver with 5.5 points each.
sovereign settles with bronze at 3.5.
Honorable mention goes to Tumbleweed, who was the only other one to come out with a positive score.

The prize(s):
1. Patricol's Jibayuna and Bayubisa are the absolute winners of this contest and will be approved as #DS199-200 and will be the entries that close off the DS Archives.
2. AlphaAquarii's Petaeros and Dyspreeze and Rahjet's Vornaries and Theranqure will be honored as excellent runner-ups. They will be approved as DS-style SEs. They will not be canon in the PFL, but will receive sprites and dexes nonetheless.

Eh, I got some Sugimori style practice out of my entries. I'll beat Patricol soundly with my accrued practice next time a contest comes up. (That being my hope, not a threat.)

(I am offended on how you all apparently hated my drawings, Staff. I knew they were not proper Sugimori; perhaps that had been my downfall---I should have known how extremely high your standards were. My apologies for lackluster shading and lineart on Sirrocap. I do not know what was wrong with Muffligid, but I suppose its pose was too un-actiony.)

Coolsteph, it has hardly anything to do with the quality of the artwork, Patricol would not have won if it was. The problem with your entry was they looked too much like living clouds with hats on, the rules specified no clouds, and operating under the assumption that that only means "no white, fluffy things that rain on you" is not a valid excuse.
