Just today, an idea suddenly popped into my head. What if there where literally spider plants? I mean that it looks like a spider, but is plantlike. I know that there are already spider Pokemon ( Spinarak and Ariados, Joltik and Galvantula ), but this one would be very different.

Name: Harvione ( Harvestman + opiliones )
The ??? Pokemon
Type: Bug-Grass?

HT: 2'11"
WT: 22.0 lbs.

Ability: Chlorophyll

Description: It is green, like an actual spider plant, but has the long, thin leaves as its legs. It is based off of a harvestman ( daddy longlegs )

Evolution: Doesn't evolve.

I know I don't have very much on this topic, but I hope people can help me out!

I have an idea for this Pokemon; base it on the Goliath tarantula. Also, give it ivy like features, and this would be a very good suggestion!

Perhaps it could be based off of a daddy-long-legs? The name will likely come after the spider base is decided on, though.

Hmmm, we never had any pokemon based on harvestmen before (Except maybe Surskit, which is technically a water strider)

Fun Fact: You basically suggested the same thing Void did. Harvestmen, at least in my area (and apparently his as well), are called daddy longlegs.

And if we are basing it off some unholy combonation of a daddy longlegs and a spider plant... This should be good.

@Chimera and Cacapulse- Yeah, they are called daddy longlegs in my area. Thinking about other options, perhaps an orb weaver?

Hmm... I like the idea of a harvestman! Maybe the name could be Harspery? ( HARvestman + SPider + greenERY )

That name also can't be applied to this Pokemon because harvestmans aren't actually spiders.

How about Comopilio? (chlorophytum COMOsum + OPILIOnes) It's based off of the scientific names for spider plants and harvestmen.

For the ability, I think Chlorophyll would be the best ability, that or another Sunny Day-based ability.

I think Swarm, Harvest, and possibly Tangled Feet could work as abilities. Name-wise, Harvione(HARVestman+OpilIONEs) sounds good to me.

We can also go even simpler with something like Bloomlegs (BLOOM + Daddy LONG LEGS) or Daddylof (DADDY long legs + Corruption of "Daffodil")

I agree with Cacapulse. As for new names, I like Harvione a lot. And for it's ability, I like Chlorophyll. Thanks everyone!

Oh yes, just mentioning this: Harvestmen can't make webs, or any other form of silk for that matter. I guess we can make liberties in the concept. Or maybe... find another species of similarly shaped spider.

You don't have to, but if you do, I would suggest making a combo between two different spiders: one being a harvestman, and the other should be a big, predatory, maybe even venomous spider, like a funnel web spider (or something similar)

@poketamer94: Well, actually, what I meant by changing the concept is that I wouldn't include Spider Web in the moveset. I want to keep Harvione based solely on a harvestman (and of course spider plants). But thanks for the suggestion!
