Time had never moved so slowly for Harlow as it was moving right now. The teacher was going on about the ins and outs of Pokemon evolution - the use of special stones and such, a topic made excruciating partly because Harlow already knew all of this but also because this lecture was the only thing standing between him and his first Pokemon. Today was the last day of class, and all the students knew that it was customary for graduating students to receive a free companion. As the day drew nearer, the excitement in the classroom grow more and more tangible - today it hung so heavy in the air that it was practically electric.
Finally, the teacher (a sub for Professor Idaho while he was away, one of his assistants) announced that class was over - it was time! Harlow scrambled to the front of the class with the other students, all pushing and shoving their way to the front of the class. The teacher did his best to maintain order despite the hubbub, though the attempt was somewhat futile. Eventually things did settle down, and Harlow found himself, to his utter dismay, square at the back of the line, silently cursing his arranged seating at the back of the classroom which had kept him from getting to the front of the class quickly.
If the class period had been hard to wait through, the line now was intolerable. It seemed like hours had passed, but finally all of the other students had filtered out of the room, their Pokeballs in hand, excited to get home and play with their newfound friends or compare their prizes in a battle or two. As he approached the table where the Pokeballs were displayed, he realized that he still hadn't made up his mind as to which one he wanted He'd been reading up on all of the standard starters - the fruit-encased Nutreed, the bashful Ninemone, and the unusual wispy Comolton being some of his favorites, though honestly he found them all fascinating. He looked up at the teacher sheepishly. "Gee, you'd think it'd be an easier choice, wouldn't it?"
((OOC: I hope this scenario is fitting for a first post - I hadn't noticed anyone else opting for a classroom intro. I figure Aaron could be the teacher, or could enter the scene some other way?))
