As you are all aware, the Black and White games contained new Pokémon only; 'new' in the sense that none of the 156 Pokémon from BW are related to one of the 493 Pokémon that existed before. Some of you might have noticed that we were discussing banning evolutions and pre-evolved forms of existing Pokémon from our upcoming BW-style Archive as well. We have now decided that we will indeed ban evolutions and pre-evolved forms of Nintendo Pokémon from our BW-style Archive. Please note that this ban is only implemented for Nintendo Pokémon; you can still suggest an evolution or a pre-evolved form for a Pokémon Factory Pokémon, unless it is related to a Nintendo Pokémon!
For those of you that just grabbed their hair in fear because you suggested a relative of a Nintendo Pokémon: don't worry. To fill up the remaining slots of our DP-style Archive, we will review and either reject or approve existing suggestions for relatives of Nintendo Pokémon starting today.
We do realize that this means we'll be reviewing suggestions out of order (their topic id no.) because of this. We do apologize for this. However, we hope you understand and be pleased that we try to keep as much suggestions as possible reviewable this way. We will move through these topics swiftly, and will assume the order by topic id no. right after completing this 'evo and pre-evo big bang'.
We also like to note that we have created a 'Rejected Suggestions' subforum in Suggest a Pokémon and Community Works. In there, we will store rejected suggestions and from now on, we will make a note in the first post of the reason the suggestion was rejected. Suggestors can learn from these notes and note make the same mistakes, if mistakes were made.
On a related note, as you might have noticed we have also put into effect a restriction on Dragon-type suggestions. We are getting way too many suggestions for this type, and way too often they are no more than lizard-like creature with the Dragon-type slapped onto them. From now on, Dragon-type suggestions need to be 100% perfect for us to even consider approving them. We have also put a restriction on a certain concept, namely robotic Pokémon. It is true that Nintendo has made artificial Pokémon too, like Magnemite and Porygon, but they have always been cute in a certain way and made sense in the Pokémon world, unlike many of the robot suggestions we have had, which were Pokémon clad in armor or machines made for destruction. We will look strictly at these types of suggestions and will not approve them unless we really like them.
Finally, from now on, we will move the topics of the suggestions we're discussing in our private forums to the Suggestions under Review forum as soon as we've started our review. This means that you can keep a close eye on what topics we're reviewing, though it also means we won't post comments right away.
So, keep an eye out for the Suggestions under Review forum!
