Gengar has been, is, and will forever be my favorite pokemon. The following is a conversation about said pokemon.
A: "Hey, man, should I catch the creepy special sweeper Ghost/Poison-type?"
B: "Aw, man I dunno. It is pretty creepy."
A: "Did I mention that it floats and is therefore immune to the most popular move in the game, EARTHQUAKE??"
B: "Okay that's cool, but everybody knows Physical brutes are superior to type-specific Specialists."
A: "Oh, and it can also learn Shadow Ball (naturally at like LV 30), Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Ice Beam, and Dark Pulse?"
B: "Why haven't you caught one yet??!!!?"
A: "Oh, and you can get one super early on in the game. Plus it's one of the original 150."
B: "I think I'll catch one."
A: "NO! IT'S MINE!"
B: "BUT I WANT IT!!!"
*the two proceed to engage in a fistfight to determine who gets to catch it as the Gengar disappears, PHASING THROUGH A FREAKING WALL*
The prosecution rests.

It doesn't learn it naturally but can be taught it by TM.
