The aide tears off his lab-coat and dashes to the back of the laboratory.
"Ahahahahahaha!"
A few seconds later, another aide rushes in from the elevator.
"That... that was a thief! I saw it on the security cameras. Quick! Uh... Take this!"
The lab aide throws a Pokéball towards Brad Jameson.
"That's a Treecko! It's got a disability, but I'll tell you later. Go get the thief and your Pokémon!

From this angle, Brad could get a better look at the thief. His hair is a stark white, with black clothes and a red collar. His eyes are a bright cyan.
"Hmph, you run fast... No matter. Duskull, go!"
The thief throws out a bright red sphere, which explodes and releases a Duskull. The Duskull rushes in with a Shadow Sneak.

"Hmph. End this."
A dark aura surrounds Duskull and the thief and releases a massive shockwave, creating a crater in the road. After the dark aura clears, Duskull and the thief are both gone.

"Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I, uh, am sorry for that. You got your Pokémon back, though, which is a good thing. Now, uh, actually, can you please place Gulfimp's Pokéball into this tablet here, it does need to be registered. If you don't trust me, uh, Professor Pine can vouch for me."
A gray haired man appears on the screen of the tablet.
"Hello, Brad Jameson. We apologize for that interruption, and we will be searching for that thief shortly. I monitored your short battle with him with tiny cameras on Treecko's body. I have to say, it seems to have taken a liking to you. Why don't you keep it?

"Ah, okay." The aide brings Treecko over to a table and runs a strange light over it. "The cameras are, uh, destroyed now."
"Very good. Now, here is your PokéTablet." Professor Pine speaks through the tablet, and the aid hands Brad a tablet computer, about the size of his hand. "It is essentially a combination of all your tools, including a PokéDex, a Map, a Cellular Phone, a Camera, an Itemfinder, a VS Seeker, a Battle Simulator, and a Fame Checker. You may be presented with custom applications from others, which can be used by this tablet to perform different functions."
The aide then presents a large backpack to Brad.
"This is a special bag. It is interwoven with the anti-gravitational substances in most levitating Ghost Pokémon. Although not enough to make fully levitate, it allows for the bag to be much lighter on a trainer's back. The bag also allows for remote Item and Pokémon storage access using a wireless network. However, as the process is much slower than in a normal Pokémon Center, I advise you to keep all your important items and Pokémon by your side. Remember that the Terroh Pokémon Training laws state that a normal trainer must only use a maximum of six Pokémon in battle. You can transfer items and Pokémon using a device here." The professor points to a round indent on the side of the bag and a small screen. "Solar panels on the bag can power functions of the bag and recharge the PokéTablet, but I advise that you recharge every time you reach a Pokémon Center just in case the solar panels fail."

"Alright. Brad, here is your Gulfimp." The aide hands the Pokéball back to Brad. "Here is 5000 Poké to start you off. Continue on Route C1, just South of town, to Pelipolis. You'll know where to go after that. If you have something to ask, just call me." The aide types something on Brad's tablet. "It's time for you to start your Pokémon adventure. Good luck!"

"Oh, hello there! Why don't you come in and take a seat!" A fisherman in his early 20's appears out of the door. "They call me the Junior Fisher, though I don't know why. Believe it or not my skills are excellent. Enough to be a senior, I may add." The fisherman pushes Brad onto a chair and rummages around in a box. "I thought that I may become a teacher to someone, to train someone into a real fisherman. You look just like fisherman material!" He pulls out a rusted and crooked fishing rod. "Here we go! This is just the thing. It's pretty old, haha, but it will work. You are a beginner, after all, aren't you? Just fish up some Magikarps and exercise those skinny arms. And if you catch a really big Magikarp, hoho, I may give you something in return."
