Why is Kyurem a trio with Reshiram and Zekrom? Let's make a list:

1. It's based off of the concept of Wuji, or the lack of yin and yang. Guess what Reshiram and Zekrom are based off the concepts of?

2. It's a Dragon/Ice type. This matches with Reshiram's Dragon/Fire and Zekrom's Dragon/Electric.

3. It shares the battle theme with slight remixes with Reshiram and Zekrom.

4. It is said to be the remains of the original dragon that split into Reshiram and Zekrom.
5. It has elements of a type of energy like Reshiram and Zekrom.

6. Its gray coloring matches with Reshiram's white and Zekrom's black.

7. Similarly, its yellow eyes match Reshiram's blue and Zekrom's red in representing the secondary type of another member of the trio as well as the three primary paint colors.

8. They share a battle intro.

9. They have the same movelist that's altered to type that other trios have.

10. There's a list that has 10 items on it to prove it.

Flarsable: Actually, number 5 is slightly off. Ice is more of a LACK of energy. This also reflects in Kyurem being "Wuji", or lack of Yin or Yang!

Cold fusion/fission. ~~I still don't know what the difference is,~~ but they're kinds of energy. Of course, a lack of energy works too.

EDIT: Oh wait. I just remembered shortly after posting what the difference is. Fusion is where they derive energy from smashing atoms together while fission is from breaking molecules apart.

Well, cold fusion is merely nuclear fusion that occurs in relatively low-energy settings, not really "cold" per se. Cold fission is a different thing entirely, where the products from the fission have such low energy that they do not emit radiation.

Also, even normal fusion and fission aren't types of energy- They are ways to extract the energy bound in the nucleus of atoms.
The concept of cold is based on temperature having a "negative", with "cold" being below room temperature. However, there cannot be a true "negative" temperature, as the lowest one may go is in temperature is absolute zero, a lack of heat. That is truly cold. Anything above that is merely in different amounts of energy, some low some high but are all positive. This can be compared with light, as "dark" doesn't exist, merely an absence of light.

But, uh, let's not delve into this. List of legendaries tiem?
