Canada actually cheered a bit and then jeered. Sort of. Yeah, we weren't all that sad. Didn't really seem like a big event, 3000 people died, big whoop.
After all, all the deaths from preventable terrorism and preventable poverty in a single day is much more as the death toll of 9/11. Annual typhoons destroy much more property and leave holes in economies larger than 9/11. Granted, 9/11 left huge marks in the US, having to rebuild the What The Crap and review laws and making people angry with long lines at the airport and all that. But now that we're in 2011, almost an entire decade after 9/11, I think it's safe time to be able to say "remember September eleventh, two-thousand FUN?" and make James Woods play a window washer who has just finished washing the last window of the World Trade Center. And then he turns around to get off the scaffold, and what do you think he sees coming? A plane. And he goes, "Come on!" You know, it-it's real, real old-style comedy, you know, it's like-it's like two pies in the face, and one in a field in Pennsylvania without being burned alive at the stake.

So before cheering for killing someone we haven't heard from in a while, we should focus on some of the world's real problems. Like preventable poverty.
