Okay, so my other thread went down the tubes when I stopped posting for a while, then stayed dead even after an attempted in-topic revival. Here, now, you can be part of my efforts to resurrect my region-- the Land of Anvera. But there's a twist: an unknown villain is behind the scenes, trying to thwart your attempts to learn about this region and its Pokemon. So here is my question to all of you:
Are you BAD enough to learn about it anyway?
----------------------------------------------
You head in through the gargantuan stone archway leading into the ancient chateau being researched by the Pokearcheologists. Being a foremost expert on Pokemon due to your many adventures, your expertise is greatly respected and appreciated. The head of the operation, Professor Banyan, shaes his head in fretful dismay. "We just can't seem to figure it out," he says. "I tried asking Professor Cryptomeria, but she couldn't figure it out either. We're both at a loss for how to solve this puzzle." The puzzle in question is an ancient tablet, on which is written in two languages (one ancient and unreadable, the other in English (or Japanese if you're playing this game in Japanese)) that tell a riddle. Only with the answer can one progress deeper into the secretive sanctum and unlock its secrets...
the oNe sits in a crystal space
sleeping in that distant place
a prOmise made To Help us all
should we ever deem to call
but trumpets sounded on that nIght
wheN it refused to hear our pliGht
so WE did falL into thE sea
while all our wonders ceased to be
a False god and his watery fiend
desTrOyed those who were uNredeemed
yet here survived the faithful lOt
bUt left this temple heRe to rOt
and so noW, traveler so youNg
a question flies from this stone tongue
what forced our people to escape
but leave this sacred place agape?
"We've tried everything," Prof. Banyan states. "We've said every type of natural disaster, we practically screamed about invaders or politacal unrest, and we even tried the twist that they never left at all, but..." he waves a hand across the wide open emptiness of the Main Hall. "It didn't work. They left, but we don't know why."

Answer the riddle, people! (Admittedly easy, I know, but still... Gotta ease you in, ya?)
