Holy crap, remember this thing? This whole Pokélympic nonsense. Well, here it is again.
Yes, I present to you... the fifth ever Pokélympics festival!
For those who have never heard of such a thing...
The first was back in the summer of 2008. It was horrible.
A second one started summer of 2009. It was better.
The third occurred the Winter of 2009-2010. It was pretty good, actually.
And the last one, in Spring of 2010, was the Aquatic Pokélympics. It was, by far, the shortest but also the best, with a fancy pancy banner that went with it. Dig through the archives if you want.
A fifth one was attempted during the Summer of 2010, but nobody joined so it failed.
About the 2011 Spring Pokélympics
Unlike the previous Spring Pokélympiad, this year it will not be featuring aquatic events only. It will be similar to the previous summer Pokélympics.
The entire festival will be one month long, starting on April 1st. There will be one (sometimes two) event every other day. If it is successful, the events may continue on to May. This is not an April Fool's joke.
All events, by default, will be hosted by me (if YOU would like to host an event, you can sign up by saying "I would like to host for event "x", it's first come first serve).
The winners of each event will be generated randomly (by a special tool, not my mind). If someone other than me hosts, it will be their choice on the winner. Now, the stats and body shape of the Pokémon do matter in the choices. For example, a Caterpie would have a tiny chance of winning a Rapidash in a race. However, there is still a chance that the Rapidash trips and the caterpie wins.
There will be a point system. Gold receives 4 points, Silver 3, and Bronze 2. Everyone else will earn 1 point for participating in an event.
The final winner (points won will be compiled) will receive the grand prize (ssh... it's a secret).
The swimming pool for the Pokélympics is 100m long and 50 m wide.
Rules (Even if you have participated before in the past years, read the rules because some things have changed):
Choose six Pokémon. Assign them each nicknames. They cannot repeat. Legendaries are not allowed. Level and sex do not matter. Make sure the Pokémon can take on a wide variety of events. The events are listed at the bottom of this post.
When entering a Pokémon in an event, each one of them can only participate in no more than two event per week, unless otherwise noted. However, you do not need to participate in all events (you will not receive the complementary 1 point)
Flying types and Levitating Pokémon (with the exception of Doduo and Dodrio) may not participate in any speed event unless otherwise noted
Wailord is not allowed in any event unless otherwise noted
You are allowed to sign up any time, from right now to before the last event. If you sign up in the middle of the festival, however, you are at a disadvantage in points.
Nintendo Pokémon only please.
Please do not flame and say "WTF Y DUN I HAVE WIN ONE EVENT YET I SHUD HAVE OTHERS WIN LIEK FIV!!!111!1!1!@@12@1@12122eleventyone!!!"
