Crap, deleted the text I typed. So hard to type like this. Anyway, I recently bought Pokemon Black and White and have been playing White. I'm like, at the 7th gym now. Now, people have been saying that BW is like RBG difficulty (which is kinda true) but I wanted to bump in up a notch and see who the real Pokemon Masters are. LET'S ALL DO A NUZLOCKE CHALLENGE! W00! I'll be using my Pokemon Black - but any IV or V gen game is fine. Do V gen for a real workout.
(Note: I play Pokemon when I'm bored with L4D so I take my time =D)
What's a Nuzlocke Challenge? Only the most difficult challenge known to Pokemon! It's a self-imposed set of rules designed to make Pokemon games more challenging and fun to test your ability and really get attached to your team. On the other hand, heartbreak... comes naturally with this challenge.
The main two rules are as follows. No matter what variation of the Nuzlocke Challenge you take, you must follow these rules:
1) If your Pokemon faints in battle - it is dead. There is no return for this Pokemon. It's hereby unusable for now and all eternity. Release or box that poor thing and then imagine that the Pokemon Tower has a new grave.
2) You can only catch one Pokemon per route/area/town/cave/sea/river/etc. That Pokemon must be the first Pokemon you see. If you faint it, tough luck, you can't catch any more Pokemon in that area. If it runs away, tough luck, you can't catch any more Pokemon in that area. If you do catch the first Pokemon you see and then find Arceus, tough luck, you can't catch any more Pokemon in that area.
Now here's are PF variations to these rules:
3) You may not carry legendaries. Go ahead and catch them (in spite of rule 2) but you CANNOT USE THEM PERIOD. Leave them in clean - just caught condition.
4) No soft-resetting or hard resetting. In other words, don't save, shut off your game every time you don't get your way. If you're boned, you're boned.
5) If your party faints, game over, you're out. You cannot participate in the Nuzlocke challenge anymore (regardless of whether your PC has pokemon or not).
6) If your Pokemon faints in a gym or Elite Four, you may NOT revive it just to clear the gym. It's gone. Forget about it.
7) Since it's self imposed, you're free to quit the Nuzlocke Challenge any time you wish. Just make sure you post that you're stopping here.
That's it, have fun, hope some of you (including the staff) join me =D
