Who here plays shoddy battle? I used to play, back in '08, but I stopped. I was wondering how many competitive battlers are on pf though, or if no one knew about this battle simulator.

Not the same at all! You choose your pokemon, decide their EVs, moves, natures, etc. in this. It's for competitive battling mostly.

I remember Pokemon Crater ( I think its Pokemon Deluge now), there were no stats and every move can be learned by anyone. So a level 100 Magikarp there could be just as powerful as an Arceus.

I gpt an account shortly after reading this, and I already have six Level 100s. I'm going to see how Pokemon Online works.

I tried Pokemon Online once, and only once, a long time ago. [in a galaxy far, far away] I think I got kicked out of one of the servers due to unruly behaviour.

To the ones in the know, is the selection of opponents always random or is there an option to 'challenge' certain users?

...I don't think you understand how it works. Shoddy Battle is for competitive battling - everyone uses level 100s. In addition you also give perfect IVs most of them time. There's no training involved.

Not Shoddy Battle- I was talking about Pokemon Deluge. I missed Crater so much...

EDIT: Crap, Shoddy's a download. And my Deluge account is timing-out, when it worked fine just yesterday on the same browser. I also won a level 84 Mirage Uxie form a raffle or something!
TRIPLEDIT: Removed the doubledit. It had nothing to do with the topic. Okay, so I'm going to download it, but I have a question first. Is it a guaranteed safe, harmless download? I don't want my computer infected with viruses.
