my suggestion is a base pokemon named Berny, the Mountain Dog pokemon. it is a dark and fire type, it is about ten pounds, and is about 1 foot tall, it stands on four legs, it looks basically like a small Bernese mountain dog puppy, except that the brown is replaced by red. Pokedex info: it has an independent spirit but it stays close to its mother at all times. it does not yet poses complete control over its power and sometimes startles itself with sudden bursts of flame. at level 20, a female Burny evolves into a Burnina, the helpful pokemon.  dark and fire type, about 40 pounds, 2.5 feet tall, quadrupedal, looks, again, like a Bernese mountain dog with curly hair, and the brown replaced by red. POKEDEX INFO: after its evolution a Burnina will assume more responsibility in the group. it is protective of the young in the group and uses its fiery powers to protect them. at level 20 a male Burny evolves into a Burnino. the pack pokemon. dark and fire type, about 45 pounds, and about 2.5 feet tall. looks like the before mentioned Burnina except it has strait hair.POKEDEX INFO: after its evolution Burnino are forcibly evicted from the family group. it then seeks out other Burnino and forms a pack. packs follow a rigid chain of command, always led by a Burnario. at level 40, Burnina evolve into Burnaria. the Motherly pokemon. Dark and fire type. about 100 pounds and 3.5 feet tall. quadrupedal. looks like a larger Burnina but with longer fur. POKEDEX INFO: the leaders of the family groups, Burnaria fiercely protect the group using all their considerable strength. heat emanates from their bodies, a quality they use to keep their young warm on winter nights. and finally, Burnino evolve into Burnrario. the pack leader pokemon. dark and fire type, 120 pounds and 3.5 feet tall. looks like a large Burnino but it is much shaggier, with longer strait hair.POKEDEX INFO: Finally mature they have permission to rejoin their family groups for short periods of time. they howl at night to communicate with other packs... all of these names stem from the Bernese mountain dog. all evolutions learn the same moves as the houndoor/houndoom track, except for one move. this move is called oppressive darkness, it works basically the same way as sunny day except that it raises the power of dark moves instead of fire moves. Female Burny, Burnina, and Burnaria  have the ability of either Blaze, or sturdy. male Burny and Burnino have the ability of either flash fire or justice heart. Burnario will always have the ability intimidate. And there you have it!
