Type: Ground
Description: A brown armadillo with a very dark brown, segmented shell and disproportionately large black claws. Somewhat scaly skin.
Data: 1) If rolling into a ball is not enough to protect itself, it will bury itself in the ground until the threat leaves.
2) While defense is always its first choice, it is perfectly able to attack with its heavy, sharp claws.

-Interesting. I would advise putting the level numbers and limiting the movelist. That is a lot of moves for a one-stage pokemon. Trapdoor, quicksand, sand castle, play dead, brassknuckle and spinning saw doent really fit the idea.
-The first two should be base moves.
-Geothermal is a little complicated. I would simple it to a two-turn fire-type move that lowers speed
-The last move is learned at 96. I think moves in the 90s are restricted to legendaries or third evolutions.
-It seems a lot like sandslash. I would differentiate the claws for that reason.
-I would call it BURROWING pokemon because defense is a stat, not so much a description.

I like the idea overall, and I was mostly looking for mistakes. Good job. Also, pics would be nice

I agree, for the most part, and the post has been edited accordingly. However,I'm keeping Spinning Saw, because it could be spinning in its shell while keeping its claws deployed. I'm also keeping Play Dead, because real armadillos will play dead in dire situations.

As for the last move at level 96, this is supposed to be sort of a third evolution without any pre-evolutions. It was originally a third-stage Sandshrew, but that's more rodent-based, and it would be weird for it to start without spikes, then gain them on Sandslash, then lose them again on Armaburro.

And the claws? While Sandslash's are huge and black, Armaburro's are... they... uh... all right. You win. They're the exact same thing. What if I made them a little smaller, and even retractable?

Not meaning to push it around some more, but Sandshrew has an alternate evolution which happens to be similar to this as well. I'm worried that it might accidentally be a combination of the two.

Okay, uh, welcome jdailey I guess. Um this your first suggestion? I don't know, I'm assuming you're new. Thanks for actually reading the "read this first" section, most people ignore it and get their heads bashed in but yeah. Well... You avoided that mess. Good job. *thumbs up*

Anyway, here's what I personally think. You indeed need proper levels and a shortened moveset. In other words, you're making this pokemon really overpowered, godmodded, deus ex machina here, and it's a dangerous world without killer monster Armadillo's popping out of the dirt and murdering us all. Anyway, I think that you should follow Therislash's advice here and reduce the number of moves, and also actually provide levels at which they are learned. More advice: Don't use a set pattern, if it's continuous pattern, even if it's not noticed, it seems a bit repetitive. Avoid a pattern for levels a move is learned. Um... you should focus on cutting some of the more dangerous moves and keeping one main "signature" attack.

Also, your new move... It's... dangerous. 2-5 turns of continued lowered speed would kill a Ninjask even. Best bet, make the accuracy lower (like Ice Ball or Rollout) or reduce the number of turns to 2 and lower the PP because otherwise this guy's gonna level the playing field with the likes of Garchomp and Rayquaza. @_@

Other then that... Keep it going. Other notes, about Play Dead, Armaburro is not a real Armadillo, it's a pokemon so it doesn't really need to be that rooted to the real thing. In other words, that move is a bit unnecessary too.

Don't worry about Sandslash and Armaburro's claws, I or another staffer will handle the design to make it a bit less like the nintendo pokemon. Just relax. Retractable claws would need new dex info and I like how it looks as is. If anything, give it three claws and call it even. Also, we do have an Armadillo pokemon... I think it's... here. Wanna make them related? We could give them a pre-evolution. ^_^

Alright, I'll quit being lazy and actually add move levels. This isn't my first suggestion, you'll find that here. I'll edit Geothermal, and make it weaker. I could make Armaburro a pre-evolution of Armordillo... maybe it would evolve by trading after learning Equip Armor?

Wait... Maybe it should be a relative of Sandshrew. If it were a pre-evolution of Armordillo and an evolution of Sandshrew, that would change the evolution circumstances, but it could work. Of course, that would require the editing of Armordillo's dex page... And then, of course, we could make it evolve from Armordillo, which wouldn't be preferable, and that would require making Armaburro just as strong, if not stronger, than it was at the start, and it would go from the great indestructible Armordillo that fears no attack to something that runs and hides at the first sign of danger. I'd hate to make them unrelated, because then they would be so similar that my poor Armaburro wouldn't get approved.

Maybe the staff can decide?

You can always make Armaburro bases on something other than a generic armadillo. Pichi armadillos, for example, or glyptodons, extinct prehistoric mammals related to modern armadillos. Pichis are hairy and have jagged scales. "When threatened, the Pichi wedges itself into its shallow burrow making it difficult for an attacker to drag it out because of its jagged scales."-Wikipedia. You could always exaggerate the 'jagged scales' bit, if needed, to be small spikes.

Multiple Pokémon are based on the same concept animal; making it a significantly different take might make it different enough from Sandslash or Armodril---I mean, Armordillo, to be a stand-alone line.

I was going to suggest removing Armordillo from the Sandshrew line and making this its new family member... but that's not going to happen.

If Phineus was still around, I would've suggested making Armordillo and Armaburro separate of Sandshrew. Alas, he is not... (as far as I know). It's okay, we can figure this out as we go.

Now that I think about it, it doesn't make sense for an armadillo to be related to a shrew. They really should be unrelated Pokemon. That would make it a lot less complicated for Armaburro and Armordillo to be related. But that would still require the editing of Armordillo's page, and I'm not sure that's possible.

Well, it doesn't make sense that a rafflesia is related to a mandrake or a hula-dancing bell, but no one has complained about that.

This is getting kind of hard... Make Armaburro and Armordillo related and edit Armordillo's page, or make them unrelated and risk not getting Armaburro approved because it was too similar. I'll leave it to everyone else to decide (Because I don't want to actually use my brain and decide by myself): Unrelated? Or pre-evolution?
