Well maybe the type could be changed to Marine or Aquatic? Also, since this is for your region, soble, could I suggest that you make these at least partial types for your legendaries? And one more suggestion: a poke named Archeros (derived from ARCHER and EROS-latin cupid) that is Heart-type or Heart/Flying-type. Or not, all this is merely speculation.

Exactly, which is why it won't be heart type. Also, no CoolSteph. Only Water and Benthic will share STAB for the same moves, since there are few moves to TRULY call benthic.

Since water and benthic are so related, I don't see the problem with it. The biggest difference I'll have between water and benthic is their weaknesses/resistances.

I think I have some ideas:

Light (since they DO live in dark places)

Electric (same as water)

Poison (i.e. water pollution)

Steel (think of it like boats harming sea life)

Sure, Rock, cuz Benthic pressure would crush just about anything at that deep a level, and possibly Flying and Wind for similar reasons, although I might be being biased since we're studying pressure for Chemistry.
