My wonderful instructor down at A&M told me to name papers after the song you're listening to, and so was born this topic's title. Anyways, I saw this strange Pokemon down in a dark forest:

And then, from nowhere, it fled in fear of this one, which I believe to be its evolution:

When I hid in the bushes, I distinctly heard the second one growl out "Rorsceraph" (RORSChach + sERAPH), pronounced "ROAR-sair-af", and I think I heard the other one call out Raptaphim (RAPTor + serAPHIM).

If I had to guess at types, they would be Dark/Dragon for the first one, and Dark/Psychic, Dark/Magic, or Dark/Light (though probably more likely the first two than the third) as types for the second one.

I'm not sure but I think the first is pure Dark-type. And Rorschach has something to do with those blobs that make shapes right?

Yep. Pure Dark-Type? But it looks so... draconic. Still, I suppose we won't know until more people have sighted it and studied it at a closer range. As to the second one's face, it was based on a Rorschach Test, so its more of an inkblot kind of thing than a face...

Many Pokémon look draconic but are not dragon-like. It seems wise to assume it is not Dragon-type until evidence on otherwise is uncovered. I wonder why only one of its arms are heavily feathered....maybe it needs one arm to feed?

But couldn't it just peck at its food like a bird? Unless maybe the feathering is to allow flight... but wait, you'd need two wings for that... Hmmm... *is tapped on the shoulder by a Silph Co. contact and then handed a manilla folder* What's this? AHA! Apparently, the small, draconic Pokémon uses the wing as a shield against attacks, like Batman's/Robin's cape! I wonder if that's a move... Anyways, I think I saw the bigger one use some sort of new move. It simply waited and observed its opponent and then drove it insane by pushing all the right... all the wrong... it pushed some mental buttons. I think it should be called:

PSYCH EVAL.
Psychic
Power: N/A
Acc:75
Effect: Target is Cofused and Sp. Atk is lowered by -1. Does not work on foes with the INNER FOCUS or OBLIVIOUS abilities.
Flavor: Assess the foe before driving them completely insane. Doesn't always work.

If it used its wing to defend itself against attacks, I think it would look quite battered.....or it might have to molt to replenish its feathers. I wonder if it would do anything with these molted feathers, if it does molt. Considering the properties we do know about the second one, maybe it could know Hypnosis?

Has no one thought that the evolution might be a Dark/Flying type, while the prevo is a pure Dark type because it can't fly?

I suppose it IS possible... unlikely, but possible. Anways, while on the subject of the second one, why do you suppose that it has no discernible face, and also what exactly is within the dark confines of its outer shell/ robe-like skin? I might hazard a guess and say it's like Shedinja's insides; utter-nothing soul-sucking void.

Maybe it has no discernible face (it still looks like a face to me...bad face-pattern part of my brain, bad.) because it has no need to eat, breathe, or see? Soul-sucking void could be a possibility, but it is not like we could safely test it, if we should encounter it again. But why would it need to suck out souls, in that case? Maybe because it misplaced its own and looks for a substitute in the meantime?

Maybe we should try looking for a Rorsceraph. Maybe we could simply have a translation professional ask the captured Rorsceraph about its abilities and any information about the other one.

Perhaps the other one, which I will call Raptaphim until we have a chance to study it more thoroughly, live, hunt, and grow in packs like actual velociraptors? Although, why would they go from pack-hunters to solitary ones? I WAS able to get in touch with someone from the Devon Corporation, who was kind enough to pass on a video recording of a Pokemon battle between their Metang. In battle, it displayed a great capacity for taking Physical hits, and was completely immune to Psychic-Type attacks (thus confirming the Dark-Type). It also displayed a tendency to be incredibly quick, while using some rather odd attacks like Night Slash, Fire Punch, and Mean Look. At least, I THINK it was Mean Look; it could very well have been Glare, or Scary Face.

I think I saw these things once. I managed to enrage Rorsceraph enough to the point in which it attacked me. I sent out my Beepidi, and noticed that Rorsceraph appeared to be completely immune to Psychic, further confirming the Dark-type, and flinched in pain when hit with a Bug-type move, possibly leaning towards Dark/Magic.

If I manage to catch another glimpse of these, I will try to do more in-depth sketches (not saying your's are bad, Sov).

(No offense taken (they WERE pretty quick)).

I wonder what ability such a creature as Rorsceraph would have? It is quite frightful, so possibly Intimidate; then again, it could also have Pressure for the same reason. An ability to hold its prey in battle would definitely come in handy (but then, how would the Raptaphim escape??)

I myself had a chance to battle a Raptaphim and managed to get a peek at its move set: Gust, Leer, and Bite were all used, so we know now that it has access to some of the more basic moves.

I just wanted something inhuman-looking for a face and that was the first thing that came to mind. Of course, unlike Rorschach, this things face remains in the same inkblot formation forever. At least, it does in theory. Do you think we should change the face?

Yes, but... those don't give it quite the intimidating demeanor as a Rorschach face.

Well, they need abilities. And maybe a couple of Generation V moves? I suggest Hone Claws, Dragon Tail, and possibly even Snarl.
