Following the release of our latest Special Edition, #SE021 Pandough, the Thief Bear Pokémon has now received a full SuperDex entry! And that is not all, since it has brought its family members along with it. These are two pokémon we all know and love. Check them out and tell us what you think of the new SuperDex layout. Enjoy!

....How can Teddiursa learn Leap, Quick Spell and Bullseye? A teddy bear cannot leap, it does not seem the type or sort to perform a minor spell, and it cannot be particularly keen on accuracy or focus.

How can Pandough learn Cut if it has no sharp parts?

Quick Spell is a TM that every pokémon capable of learning TMs is able to use. It is a very simple spell; anyone and anything could learn it. Leap is a jump up into the air. Teddiursa has legs, so it is able to run and jump, so I don't see why it shouldn't be able to take a leap.
Bullseye is a move tutor move that all pokémon capable of learning move tutors moves can learn. Being taught to aim correctly is something lots of pokémon can do.

Also, Pandough is able to learn Cut because Teddiursa can learn Cut. Before wondering how, let's ask ourselves the age-old question: how does Diglett use Cut?
Seriously, though, Pandough probably has some small and hard-to-see, yet sharp nails. It needs those for its stealing habits. Grabbing items with soft, clumsy paws just doesn't work.

Also, I would appreciate it if you could comment on stuff you like too, instead of only pointing out alleged flaws and what you think is wrong...

I do like it.....I simply did not find anything particularly different from before that I felt like I needed to point out. I do not mean to insult you in saying this, but to explain why I only possessed questions to say. I like the species themselves, but the way their data is represented is not bad, simply not revolutionary. I simply cannot imagine a teddy bear leaping----in the sense of leaping like a pounce or aerial kick, instead of a regular jump, as you explain it is meant to be. To me, Bullseye brings to mind aiming an arrow at an apple on a target, with certain preciseness, rather than simply focusing on the target.

Please excuse me as I retreat into a corner for having upset the Staff. Misfortune to my mouth, or rather fingers, for upsetting Antarctros when he was being nice to me...

I think Teddiursa/Pandough being able to leap makes perfect sense, Considering that they AREN'T a teddy bear, they're a teddy bear like creature. Bullseye merely refers to hitting the exact center of where you were aiming at, so its' archer connotation has no real effect on the true meaning of the word.

Incidentally, my personal opinion on the Diglett line learning the cut moves is that they're hot dog shaped moles which keep their sharp paws underground. Hey, makes more sense then the idea I read about telekinetic Digletts <.

For the record, precision has nothing to do with targets. Accuracy does. Precision is how close a value is to another. So if you consistently hit the right side of the target, you'd be precise. Accuracy is how close a value is to the accepted or target value, so if you hit the target where you're aiming for (the bulleye) you'd be accurate. =p thought I'd clear that up.

Ah, but actually, the new SuperDex is quite revolutionary

Well, it isn't if you're used to stuff like Serebii's Pokédex, but compared to the old SuperDex, it is an enormous improvement. Before, layout-wise, it were simple visible table cells on the grey PF background that were ugly, uneven and ordered badly; now it is stylish and smooth with no table borders visible, and everything is ordered below each other. But of course the revolution itself is not visible: it's the database behind the entries. This database is the reason that stuff like the abilities and the moves, and even the pokémon's type are all clickable. But maybe the map shows it best: the database creates the red areas itself, which is why you can hover over the locations and get info regarding availability. The database also records what sprites of a certain pokémon are available, and thus shows those available and hides what isn't ready yet. That is why Ursaring has both male and female sprites, for example. All quite revolutionary, although I admit it's hard to tell, since it's not directly visible ^-^

ShinEdit: Also, Leap itself deals no damage. Read its effects here. Teddiursa, for example, could take a leap and then deal a more powerful, but less accurate, Scratch the next turn. No pouncing or kicking is involved, unless the pokémon using Leap can use moves that involve pouncing or kicking.

Ah, that makes more sense now. Essentially a mobile charging move at the expense of accuracy.

But wait a second, doesn't that mean that Leap isn't actually a leap? It's just preparing for one?

No, the pokémon does take a Leap. However, that's all. It doesn't punch, kick, scratch or stuff like that, so it just jumps, readying itself in mid-air to land a more powerful attack the next turn. And before you ask, yes, the pokémon remains in the air at the end of the turn. However, that's only a bit from the ground - like how high you'd get from jumping - so it isn't like Fly in that the pokémon is safe from attacks.
