OK, so in school right now we are learning about mythology. And then I thought: Wouldn't it be cool if there was a Pokemon based off of the gods and goddesses?

So I thought of a Pokemon that like Tyrouge evolved into different things depending on stats. Unfortunately, that's pretty much all I got.

So here's how it goes. There's a genderless baby Pokemon, and at level 21, it will turn into these things depending on stats.

HP: Apollo-Based (Light/Flying, all male. Ability: Drought.)
Attack: Mars-Based (Fighting, all male)
Special Attack: Jupiter-Based (Electric, all male)
Defense: Vulcan-Based (Steel/Fire, all male)
Special Defense: Minerva-Based (Psychic, all female)
Speed: Mercury-Based (Dark/Wind, all male. Ability: Pick Up)

So, I need help with things like what moves they learn, looks, and the pre-evo.

Now shoot.

Having something with so many split evolutions is going to require unanimous approval among the Staff members. Giving it only three evolutions might be something more feasible but still maintaining a sense of variety.

Yea, that many evos tread in the "oh god, not yet another Eeveelution" -territory.

Also, basing something off actual deities is a dangerous ground to tread on; when do they feel "epic" enough without feeling overpowered?

(Also, on personal basis I hate mixing the Greek and Roman gods. While the latter is a straight ripoff of the first, I still don't like mixing them.)

When life gives you lemons, you steal the sugar and put it on salt shakers.

How about you represent only three? Since three is a limited number, perhaps you could base it off Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades? (But making sure to downplay their qualities.)

Being the mythology nut I am, I think this is a good idea. However, like FoW, I also hate mixing Greek and Roman gods. However, I know somebody over at dA, Ironwolf09, who is amazing at pokemon based off of Greek mythology. He uses their sacred animal, such as doing, say, a horse/hippocampus for Poseidon, a swan for Aphrodite, an eagle for Zeus, etc. I may be able to get his hel[p if you need it, though any of my/his ideas are purely suggestion.

I read for fun and entertainment, not because I have to. When bored, I flip through a dictionary. I hope to write a 300+ page novel one day, and have gathered several ideas.

I think the prevo should be genderless and one of the evos a goddess, say based off of Athena (whose sacred animal is an owl, I believe) or Hera (whose is a peacock)

I was thinking that it would be genderless.

And Minerva is Athena. I could do Juno/Hera though.

Also, it is a lot of evos, but what about those Farfecth'd evos at the top of page 26-50?

I like the idea, though what snout having parts of those animals integrated into the look instead of being based mainly off the animal? I want it to retain some human aspects.

EDIT: Also, would Ceres work for the missing one? The choices are not necessarily for typing, but for the natures of the gods in what myths I have read (cuz everyone knows grass is pretty weak). Plus, she is a goddess and I can't think of what else they would be. I mean, I haven't chosen Juno/Hera to fill the spot becauxe I can;'t think of what her typing would be.

Also, since the Jupiter one is part eagle, should it be part flying?

You've got to face it. It's got five weeknesses comapred to its three advantages. And no flaming, because you're going to just get burned (and you don't want to be near grass types when you've been charred, because they're very flammable).

I was personally thinking Hephaestus/Vulcan for the Defense evo. It makes sense considering Vulcan is the Roman god of metal-working. (Ugh, I'm a big fan of Greek mythology and it feels weird to call Hephaestus "Vulcan".) By the way, I personally think that the HP evo (Apollo) should be Light-type and the Speed evo (Mercury) should be Wind or Flying-type.

Hmm, makes sense. But the thing is that Vulcan is what some may call "disabled", so I don't think he wouldn't be that great defensively.

The Type changes make sense though.

So his leg really isn't the greatest.... that would probably just hinder speed. However I do believe that a Defense-oriented evo representing Vulcan (who will probably be Steel-type) would make an excellent tank.

EDIT: I know this is probably NOT anything like you had imagined but the idea was floating through my mind. Also I'm not sure if you'd like this or not but I tried to make them look inhuman, also trying to make them look interesting. Some turned out well, others turned out... not well. Also, I thought of "preliminary" names for them, if you don't mind. ^.^

I think it is pretty important that you make them all Greek and not at all Roman. The Romans added a whole bunch of other myths and parts of gods that changed them. Mars is the god of agriculture. Ares is not.

Also the lots of split evo is too crazy. Stick with at most three.

I suggest Mercurier (MERCURy + CoURIER) for the speed evo, Forthena (FORTress + aTHENA) for the tank evo--or a Special stat emphasis evo--and Arebelum (AREs + BElLUM, latin for war period) for the attacking evo--or perhaps a Physical stat emphasis evo to counterpart with the earlier suggestion.
