After waking up from the strange dream featuring a few of Carai'ba's Pokémon, you see that it is only five o'clock in the morning. You settle back down in your bed, ready to sleep in, when you hear a thud noise from outside. You part the leafy windows, and look outside. You see several of your village's huts, and then the Pokémon lab. Someone was trying to open the lab's locked doors! You rush outside of your one-room hut, and run towards the would-be thief.

You tackle the thief head-on. He lets out an 'oof' and collapses, you on top of him. Unsure of what to do, you kick at the lab's door while grappling with the criminal. Before the professor can get outside, the thief gets out from under you and runs. Happy that he did not steal anything thanks to you, but dissapointed that you did not stop the thief, you get up, ready to leave, when a woman, in her late twenties, opens the lab door. Despite the ruckus, the professor looks calm.


"I was just getting out of the shower when I heard that racket outside! Are you alright?" She asks with sincere concern.
"Yes, I'm fine, Professor Cypress." You answer disdainfully, still upset about the thief.
"Well, come on inside, it looks like it's about to rain." She continues. As if on cue, you hear thunder rumble in the distance.
Walking inside to the lab, you note that your father, Professor Cypress' best assistance, is still not there. Professor Cypress, trying to lighten the mood, tries to start a conversation.

"Where is your sister? Still asleep, I assume?"
"Yes." You answer gruffly.
"Does your sister still have that Fyde I gave her a little over a month ago? You know, I've been wondering, if your little sister has a Pokémon, shouldn't you get one also?"
You hadn't thought of that possibility. With a Pokémon, you could have captured the thief. Trying not to sound rude, you ask, "So, you would really give me a Pokémon, would you?"
"Of course" was her answer.
"Well, then cou-" You begin, but Professor Cypress cuts you off.
"Yes, I have a selection right over there," She says, gesturing to a table, "Just go pick one that you want. The species are labeled on the backs of the balls."

You walk over, and glance over the Pokéballs, and see one that says 'Flame Mask Pokémon'. Remembering your dream, you know that that is the Pokémon Choblaze. You pick up the ball, and toss it. Out pops a small Choblaze, who makes a sound like that of a crackling fire upon seeing you. The Pokémon glances over you, and then chirps gleefully.

Professor Cypress, seeing your choice, says, "You've seen you sister battle, right? Well then you know how to!" She calls, and picks up two Pokéballs. She tosses the first, and a small, bird creature that you do not know of pops up. It buzzes its wings and clears off papers and a few lightweight contraptions, leaving a place to battle. It then flies to the ceiling and pecks at a pipe, probably at a hidden button. Then, the clean area of tiles rises up, and goes to form platforms at opposite sides of the lab. Underneath is a dirt floor, with occasional grass or flowers sticking up. Professor Cypress gets on one platform and tells you to do the same. She then returns the bird and sends out a coconut like creature. It wears a grass skirt and has two arms, with coconuts for hands. Choblaze positions itself on the other side, and the battle begins. Choblaze, under your command, sends out a Growl, followed by an Ember. Professor Cypress tells her creature to do a move called simply Small Punch. The battle goes by fast.



You win. Next, Professor Cypress congratulates you, and hands you a Pokédex. "To help keep track of all the Pokémon you'll meet." She tells you what it does. Then, she lets you scan her coconut Pokémon and get the dex, and evolution of it, on your Pokédex.


These Pokémon inspired the dance named the hula due to the youngest's dance-like movements. They can also fight very hard, punching wildly. This has earned them the Grass/Fighting type. The evolution practices punches and dance routines, with its two sets of arms. These Pokémon is common on beaches and are very useful for beginning trainers, due to their strength and obedience.
