So, here they are, the Grass Starters of Carai'ba! Based off of the Swiss cheese plant, a broad leaf with holes in it.

They remind me of Koroks from Wind Waker, but whatever. They are Fyde (Fytevo, Greek for plant+Hide), Fyteak (Fytevo+Sneak), and Snekrytevo (Sneak+Krybo, Greek for hide+Fytevo). They are hard to train, as they will try to hide from the trainer. Fyde evolves at level 18, Fyteak at level 32. Fyde and Fyteak are pure Grass, while Snekrytevo is Grass/Dark. Their numbers are, of course, 1, 2, and 3.

I know it isn't even close to Thursday, but I just want to reveal the next starters. So, here they are!

Ignore the scribbles at the bottom. Anyways, they are named Choblaze (Choboli, Greek for Ember+Blaze), Flamask (Flame+Mask), and Tikevlin (Tiki, as in the tiki mask+Kevlin). They are prone to mood swings and are difficult to train. Choblaze evolves at Level 16, Flamask at level 34. The first are pure Fire, the last Fire/Ice. Based off of fire, cold fire, that happy face/sad face mask, and lanterns. Numbers-4,5,6

That's a bubble by the little one's beak. They are named Jelleepy (Jellyfish+Sleepy), Awaquid (Awake+Squid), and Krakinsom (Kraken+Insomnia). After gaining insomnia, Krakinsom uses psychic abilities to 'sleep', despite it actually harming it. Jelleepy evolves at level 14, Awaquid at level 36. The first are pure Water, the last Water/Psychic. Based off of a jellyfish and squid. Numbers-7,8,9

I love the concept of the mask one! But... how about the name Tikevlin (Tiki as in tiki mask + Kevlin) for Keepature instead? Or maybe Tikeeper.
BTW the insomniac jellyfish still have Torrent as their ability right?

Thank you so much. I had decided that I wasn't going to post the next ones until somebody commented. Okay, I'll change the name of Keeperature to Tikevlin. Yes, they do have Torrent as an ability, though they get Insomnia when given to you by someone introduced later on.

He acts like BW's Dream World, giving you starters with different abilities than normal.
And because I hadn't updated in a while, you get eight new pokemon! Four birds and four bugs.

These guys are named Intowl (one with egg) and Zoirowl (one with brain). The names come from INTelligence+OWL and ZOIROs, Greek for 'smart'+OWL. Intowl evolves into Zoirowl at Level 19. Intowl is Normal/Flying, while Zoirowl is Psychic/Flying. Numbers-10, 11

Another bird line, all of these are Normal/Flying. They are named Beacan (BEAk+touCAN), Mytoucan (MYTi, Greek for beak+Toucan), and Casquero (CASQUE, the 'horn' on a hornbill+aERO). Beacan evolves at Level 23, Mytoucan at Level 35. Numbers-14,15,16

Here are Magglide and Fliplane, names coming from MAGGot and GLIDE and FLy and bIPLANE. They are each Bug/Flying. Magglide evolves at Level 17. Numbers-12,13

Meet Arachoin and Treaspider, their names having obvious meanings. Arachoin evolves into Treaspider at Level 21. They are Pure-Bug Type. Numbers-17,18

These are all found on the first and second routes. They're just your common Pokemon, to get you to the later part in the game.

Okay, now that we have the starters, we should have a poll!

Which starter should we choose?

Fyde, a strong yet uncooperative Grass-type.
Choblaze, a jittery and reliable Fire-type.
Jelleepy, a slow starting but smart Water-type.

It will inderectly choose the next Pokemon we meet here.
Well, I designed these before Yorterrie was revealed, so it is a coincidence.
Yes, they are based off of the Swiss cheese plant, a leaf with holes in it. The idea reminded me of Koroks from Wind Waker, what with them wearing leaf masks and all, so from that idea sprung this.

Sadly, no, the bodies did not have any greater meaning. I think they might have something to do with lynxes or something, some other North American wild cat that lives in/near forests.

Just so you know, I will not vote unless we come to a tie, and nobody else has voted for over a week. Also, once there has been three votes, the starter with the least votes will be 'eliminated', so to speak. Also, hopefully, before the voting finishes, I will be able to reveal the common rodent.

Ah, here are the rodents! Based off of squirrels, the common brown squirrel and the burrowing squirrel.

I went ahead and gave you the names for the starters because of their difficulty and Greek roots (on some). So, here, guess the names, abilities and typing from this information:

The small squirrel illustrated here is often seen scurrying around trees, trying to get at Arocan Berries. The size of the adorning hat on their head signifies their rank. Despite their cute appearance, these Pokemon are very organized and dangerous in packs. Their evolution has lost their agility in favor of intelligence and strength. They now burrow into the ground, where they scavenge for Wuntalli Berry shells to use as helmets. They use their 'helmets' to guard their burrow holes, keeping out the elements and intruders. Scientists specualte the darker color is for better camouflage in the dark soil of their underground homes. Numbers-19,20

Scurrell is almost correct! Just take away one single letter. Burrodent is getting closer, but both names have 'squirrel' at the end.
