So has it been confirmed somewhere that Mamanbou is Luvdisc's evo? I've searched and haven't found anything and i don't want to get my hopes up only for Nintendo to crush them. I'm really hoping mamanbou is luvdisc's evo.

If it wasn't it would matter a whole lot. That's a big middle finger to everybody who wanted/ or at least thought it would be luvdisc evo. No matter how obvious, I still have my suscpisions. I won't offically be happy about Luvdisc getting a possible evo until it's confirmed.

Btw...........I wonder if Luvdisc would evolve into Mamanbou while holding a heart scale?

I doubt it would evolve while holding a heart scale, since Nintendo likes to keep its evolutions canon. I can level up my Luvdisc while holding a heartscale in Ruby or Diamond and nothing will happen, so Nintendo would be unlikely to give it that evolution method.

But some pokemon that evolve whilst knowing a certain move could have evolved in a generation prior to the release of their evolved form. Look at Lickilicky and mamoswine.
There were ways back in Gen. 2 and 3 to get both of their pre-evos to learn Rollout and Ancient Power respectively.

Considering that non-Generation V Pokemon are not in Isshu until after the main story, you either get Mamanbou much later in the game... or it isn't a Luvdisc evo. After all, considering that if Luvdisc isn't in Isshu, there's no reason for it to evolve.

HEart Scale makes no sense because you can catch Luvdisk holding Heart Scales.

When Mamabou was initially revealed I was certain that it was Luvdisc's evolution, but now I tend to think the opposite. Mamanbou seems to be a relatively common Pokémon that appears early-ish in the game from what we've seen of trailers, and every time I see new art of it, it seems to me like the artists are progressively trying to separate it from Luvdisc more, design-wise. If you look at its Sugimori art, as opposed to its in-game sprite, they come off as Pokémon that look similar but aren't necessarily related, somewhat like Magcargo and Torkoal.

Then again, I could be wrong. I wouldn't mind Luvdisc evolving, it certainly could use the boost.

They should be related becuz it's really pointless to create a heart-shaped disc fish pokemon and have another heart shaped disc shaped pokemon who has the same color scheme as well. I still feel it will be a big middle finger to us all if they're not.

@Elemental penguin It kinda does make sense if it might evolve with it by trade. Poliwhirl evolves w/ king's rock by trade and poliwhirl can hold King's Rock in the wild but it really doesn't matter as nobody knows quite yet if Mamanbou is Luvdisc's evo.
