"Don't let them escape!" a man shouted at the grunts. He had a slight accent, a small mustache, and a black uniform with a cape. He wore a mask that looked like the crescent moon. The grunts nodded. "Yes, Master Lugo!" they shouted. Lugo grinned. "Asterore, use Flamethrower!" The Asterore howled and shot a tongue of flame directly towards Lance, Fyllo, and Myga.

"Are you serious?!" Lance shouted out loud, "Why do you keep following us?! We didn't do anything to you!" He pulled out possessord as Fyllo and Myga hid behind Lance.

"Asterore, return!" he exclaimed, as the giant blue-flamed Pokemon returned. "We are Team Comet. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Lugo. Our goals are too complicated for a mere child to understand. So, you'd best not meddle in Comet affairs any longer. No one will be allowed to mess with our goals." He pulled out a Poke Ball. "Go, Lunatone!" he exclaimed. The moon-shaped Pokemon came out of its Poke Ball, glaring at them. "Make sure they don't meddle any more. HYPNOSIS!" The Lunatone's eyes glowed, and it tried to hypnotize Lance and the two Pokemon.

"Possessord, use protect!" Lance threw Possessord at Fyllo and Myga as as green shield formed the 3 pokemon. Lance got hit by hypnosis and collapsed.

Xavier, having heard the ruckus outside, ran towards the door, doctors and medics trying to restrain him. He burst through the doors just in time to see Lance collapse. Two doctors followed him, and Xavier shouted at them. "Get him! Don't worry about me!" The doctors complied, grabbing Lance and rushing back inside. Xavier saw the Team Comet person with a Lunatone, looking smug. Xavier grimaced, and spoke to the Pokemon. "Myga, Supersonic. Fyllo, Absorb." He then saw Possesword, and grabbed it. It appeared annoyed that it's master was gone, but did not resist Xavier. Myga and Fyllo used their respective attacks, confusing and damaging the Lunatone. Then, the Protect fell, and Xavier charged. Once he was close enough to the Lunatone, Xavier threw Possesword. It flew towards the Pokemon, hitting it. The Lunatone fell, unconscious.

(OOC: Sorry kk, but we need to move forward.)

Lugo returned lunatone as one of the grunts summoned a clefairy. "Expect to see us again!" The clefairy used flash, and after the light faded, the evil group disappeared.

The doctors carried Lance away to a bed in Xavier's room, and Xavier followed back to his bed.

That evening, Lance finally woke up as he saw Possessord hovering next to him. He saw Xavier eating some hospital food and wondered what it was.

"Hey Xavier, what is that your eating there?" he asked.

"Hm? Oh, this is just a little smoothie. Made from Rawst Berries, which are supposed to help my burns." He said, gesturing at the blue drink. "How are you feeling?" Xavier then asked, sounding a little worried. Fyllo, who was laying on the floor, chirped. Myga buzzed around Lance, as if wondering if he was really awake.

Lance patted Myga on the head and gestured him to go back to Xavier. "I'm good," Lance answered, "Had a pretty good nap too. Did the doctors give you permission to leave this place, or do we need to stay a bit more?"

"They said to wait until tomorrow if you wake up past 7 PM." Xavier said. Finishing off the last of the smoothie, he looked at the wall clock. It was 5-'o-clock. "And it appears we can leave. Are you ready?" He said, picking his coat up off the floor. Lance nodded, and the pair went back out the door.

Lance and Xavier returned all of their pokemon and left the building. However, there was a rocky barrier blocking the path. "Great. We're stuck here," Lance said, "must have been because of that Asterore."

Xavier noticed a man with a pick-ax and a miner's hat not far off, taking a break from working it seemed. He walked over to him. "Hello there. Could you by any chance help us with the rocks over there?" Xavier asked. Noticing the large rocks for what appeared to be the first time, he spoke to Xavier. "Sure could. What's your names, by the way? Mine's Butch." Butch said. "I'm Xavier, and he's Lance." Xavier answered, gesturing towards Lance. Once Butch got over to the rocks, he inspected them for a little while. Then, he sent out a large Machoke. "Machoke, Rock Smash." Butch said, and Machoke went over and punded at the rock. Eventually it cracked, and was able to be crossed over. "Thanks for the help." Xavier said to Butch and his Machoke.

"I can teach ya, but unless you have Rubyd City's badge, it's no use." Butch said gruffly. "I might see ya later though, so if you see me, come over and chat for a little while." Turning around, Butch walked back to his work. Lance and Xavier walked on to the next town, Rubyd City.

On the road to Rubyd city, Lance and Xavier were chatting. "Xavier, I have a bit of a confession to make," Lanced sighed, "When I was asleep, I had a flashback. It was the moment I started my pokemon journey. Mind If I share?"

"Before I explain what happened, you need to know what happened in my past," Lance explained, "Always the fan of swordsmanship, I always mimicked his father. Although one day, he died of cancer, and I was heartbroken. I wanted to make my father proud by using his sword techniques for something. I tried tournaments, but always lost. I tried croping in the fields of my hometown, but it bored me. So, I traveled far and wide in search of a way to express my stress."

He paused, and looked up at the sky.

"In my flashback, I saw a possesword interlocked in battle with a kabutops. Wanting to help, I grabbed onto the possessord's shaft without thinking. Understanding what I was trying to do, it let me move him around, as if it were a blade instead of just a pokemon. With the skill Lance had and the power possessord brought, the kabutops was defeated."

He paused again, smiled, and looked back at Xavier.

"I understood then my place for my sword technique. Pokemon battling. I fight along side my Possessord with a technique I call 'chivalry-style.'"

Xavier remained silent through-out the backstory. "Hm" Was the only thing he said after it. The sun was already starting to set, and he and Lance put up the tent. They fell asleep quickly, and slept deeply.

Before the sun rose, Xavier had woken up. He left a note in the tent, and walked around. He saw a tall tree, and climbed it. He sat at the top, watching the sun rise, until Lance woke up. He then jumped down and went back to the tent.

Xavier really didn't want to talk, yet did anyways. "I saw a rare Pokemon, and ran distracted into the forest. The Pokemon mislead me, and I ended up lost. Once I finally found my way back to the vacation home, my family had left to go back to Hoenn." He said, not specifying, and giving a summary so the pain would be less.
