Xavier shuddered in his sleep. He rolled over, and fell off the bed and onto the floor. The floor, however, was just dirt and grass. He woke up abruptly, and found his way to the large luminous mushrooms. He tapped them, and a bluish light filled his one-room hut. He heard the rhythmic pattering of rainwater on the makeshift roof. Water dripped through a small hole in the leafy ceiling, and Xavier stamped a small silk patch to it. His little hut was made from a bunch of leaves, twigs, branches, and silk. He had lived in it for almost a year by himself, along with a few Bug- and Grass-Types. He walked over to his closet, which was just a silk sack filed with clothes and a screen to change behind. After changing into silk pants and shirt, he slipped on a holey, roughly patched, brown leather coat. He ruffled around his messy brown hair, and stepped out of the leaf door. He walked through the rain, somberly, towards a laboratory. The rain was cold, and seeped through the patched jacket with ease. He shivered, silently cursing the thin silk clothes. Xavier saw that the rain was becoming much thicker, and ran to cover under some trees. It was meager shelter, but it would have to do. He shivered from the cold, and huddled closer to the wooden trunk. He fumbled through his many pockets, and pulled out a small stick covered in leaves. He pulled a silk strand from the leaves, which then popped open. He then untied another silk strand, and pulled another stick of similar size from the leaf insides. He tied it on to the other, making a small, yet stable, umbrella. He sat there in the cold wet rain, covered in water, racked with shivers. Wind started to blow wildly, and cracks of thunder and flashes of lightning started to show themselves.
Eventually, the rain and wind died down, and thunder and lightning were non-existant. Xavier, rolled into a small ball, stretched his muscles. After dissasembling and placing the umbrella back into one of his many pockets, he continued to walk to the laboratory. He reached the sliding glass doors soon, and went inside, cold and wet. When he noticed that he was dripping water on the clean tile floor, he stepped back, preparing to go back outside. Xavier then heard a voice.
