Caw, caw, the Wingulls called absentmindedly, flying over the small coastal town of Pan. Below them, the Town - a strange mix of old and new - was just awakening, optimistic and energetic.
"I still don't see why you couldn't have dropped me off at Amel." The speaker, Joshua Collins, sounded gruff and unhappy. Certainly he didn't belong to this environmental harmony.
"Because," the answer came, broadcast to Joshua's earpiece from hundreds of miles away, "You're not here on vacation. You're hear to blend in. Trainers in L'Archel start in L'Archel, and so, you do, too." To Joshua, this sounded insane. He'd been sent, out of all the members of his squad, because he was the youngest.
Yet the people of L'Archel proper all seemed a bit . . . old. The few Trainers he'd seen, granted, were about his age - but still, would starting at Amel really have jeopardized the mission that much? He wouldn't have been there longer than it took to say "mud bath", but of course not. Send in the only International Policeman who had pokephobia to go undercover as a Trainer without any niceties first. As if reading his feuding mind, his earpiece buzzed. "Better here than the Tiksi Branch," the voice joked. "Now get going." Nodding his head unhappily, Joshua knocked on the door in front of him - a sturdy barrier belonging to Pan Town's own Pokemon Lab.
((OOC: The Tiksi Branch is a . . . 'joke' . . . for pokemon, though I doubt anyone will get it, or find it funny. :/ ))
