Manuel slowly woke up from his bed, noticing his alarm went off. He checked the time. "Oh no, I'm late!" It was 10:00am, and he was an hour late. He dashed out of the house and into the Xe-Al lab.

A young boy sudddenly popped into the lab, almost running into some equipment. Professor Jocelin Lavender turned around to look at him. He appeared hurried, and was breathing hard. "Hello there, I am Professor Lavender." She said calmly. "You must be Manuel. Yes, I got your sign-up for registration as a Trainer. You want a Fancifowl, is that?" She said, handing him a small Pokeball. Manuel then noticed a boy about his age lurking off to the side, wearing a white labcoat and goggles on his head. "Go on, open the Pokeball." The Professor urged.

"Well, yes I do," replied Manuel. He took his pokeball and let out a fancifowl. It quacked in happiness.

Professor Lavender then started looking at the Fancifowl from all angles. She then nodded, and asked Manuel to give her the pokeball for a second. He did so, and she returned the happy Fancifowl. She then placed the pokeball onto a scanner, and pressed a button. Information then appeared on the screen, and Lavender read aloud:

Fancifowl
Level 5, Female

Peck

Charm

Night Slash

She handed the pokeball back to Manuel, and then gestured to the boy in the shadows. "That is my young assistant, James. He has also recieved a Fancifowl, and would like to explore Xe-Al. Would you allow him to come with you?" She asked. James shifted his feet in the background.

Professor Lavneder nodded in agreement. The boy then stepped out of the shadows, his lab coat trailing behind. "Hello. I'm James. Nice to meet you, Manuel." He said, offering his hand. Then his Fancifowl somehow managed to pop out of it's pokeball, and quacked. He appeared to be holding a small, black-and-white stick, wth one end covered in feathers. The pair tehn walked out of the lab, and into Obsidian Town. After buying some basic supplies, they then went onto Route 1.

Noticing two Trainers leave the Lab, 'Nbelievable stretched his arms and got out of his tent. He wanted to make sure he was the first Trainer to get a Fancifowl, and to no surprise, he failed. Quickly packing his stuff up and tidying himself, he entered the Lab and walked up to the Professor. "Um, excuse me? I'm here for a Fancifowl?"

Professor Lavender looked up again, and saw another trainer-to-be. "You must be 'Nbelievable." She said, remembering his nickname from his sign-up. "Here is your Fancifowl. Go ahead and open it up." She said kindly, whilst handing him a red-and-white ball.

"Ooh..." he said, picking up the ball hypnotically. He released its contents, and the Wild Duck Pokemon came out. "Fanci!" it chirped. "Aww, it's soo cute!" 'Nbelievable said, picking it up. "So, how do I get a leek?"

"You can buy some in certain stores, but they are very costly. Alternately, you could go to the nearby Lotus Lake and get one." Professor Lavender said. "My assistant, James, and another starting trainer, Manuel, left a little while ago. You might be able to catch up."

"Okay. Catch ya later! I think," he said, and left the Lab. He looked around, and in the distance he could make out two Trainers walking with Fancifowls. Assuming that was them, he quickly ran towards them.

James heard footsteps behind him, and turned to look. Another boy, one closer to his own age, was running towards them, Fancifowl resting in one hand. "Manuel, turn around. We're being followed." He said.

"I am James, and that is Manuel." James said, gesturing towards Manuel. The group continued on towards Route 1.

Upon reaching Route 1, James spotted a Stribra. Fancifowl ran towards it, wanting to battle. Fancifowl started flapping it's wings wildly, attempting a Featherdance. It succeeded, bombarding the Stribra with fluffy down. The Stribra then Tackled Fancifowl, but it didn't hurt much due to the feathers. "Peck the Stribra!" Lucas called. Fancifowl jabbed with it's small beak, hitting the equine pokemon in the flank. It whinnied, and Fancifowl continued to jab wildly. The Stribra then made a guttural sound which Lucas assumed was a Growl, and Fancifowl quit the jabbing out of fear. "Charm it!" Lucas shouted. Fancifowl stared at the Stribra, which then got lost in the eyes. When the Stribra was thoroughly distracted, Fancifowl lunged at it wildly, Pecking. After a few pecks, Lucas called Fancifowl off. "Come on Fancifowl." He then tossed a red-and-white Pokeball at it. It abosrbed the Stribra, and fell to the ground.

Shake...

Shake.....

Shake.......

Click!

Lucas walked over to the ball, picked it up, and released the small zebra. It whinnied in delight, and ran over to a few berry bushes to snack.

"Nice one," Manuel commented. "It looks kinda cute." He glanced at a nearby town ahead, "I'm not going to waste my pokeballs yet."

"Yes, we should." James said. They walked down Route 1 and towards the town. They ran into a few pokemon on the way, like Taillow and Seedum, but nothing was to difficult. They eventually reached Sakaba Town, a small farming village. There were several Ponyta, Mareep, and Plumpkin around the town, whinnying or baaing or giggling. Fancifowl was relatively excited, and Stribra was running around the town, greeting several Ponyta. They looked at the sun, and found it setting. They soon found a small farmhouse to stay the night in, and slept well.

The next morning, Manuel woke up to the sound of crowing and he got out of bed. After showering and getting dressed, he visited a barn, where he saw a farmer grooming a small mareep.

(OOC: This mareep is the runt of the litter, and I'm gonna catch it. Mind someone play the part of the farmer?)

James was still sleeping when Manuel had left, and the farmer was talking to him. "Hullo there. You seem like the strong type. Could you hulp me on the farm here? It's been ovurrun by Willisp. I might lut you have one of of these here Mareep." He said, mispronouncing 'e's.

"Of course I can," Manuel replied with confidence. He walked around back and saw many willisps spooking many farm pokemon. "Go Fancifowl!" And out popped the duck. "Night slash!" One of fancifowl's wings turned purple as it dashed, slicing many of the grassy ghosts.
