"Yeah I am thanks whoever you are" said Hydro to the old lady and then ran off to Pan Road, in a few minutes he reached it and began to run along the road he ran past a few pokemon and made a mental note to come back and see about catching them. In due time however he began to see more trees and saw a man about to enter in a place where the trees thinned "professor baobab wait a second" he yelled as he got nearer to him "I came looking for you to get a starter pokémon" he panted having run as fast as he could.

"okay just as long as it wont hurt the pokemon" said Hydro reaching into the satchel and grabbing a pokeball he then pressed the button in the middle and out came a...

"ok proffesor c'mon mantyke" said Hydro as the three began to walk to the Professors lab, after a little while they were quite near and Hydro began to wonder what it was the professor was going to give him. His wonderings wouldn't have to wait long however as they were now within ten feet of Pan Town.

"I'll have blue please" said Hydro immediately after the professor asked him, he reached in and took the blue one out "is there any reason there are different colors?" he asked.

"thanks 'bye" said Hydro and followed by mantyke left the building and began to go to the pokemart within the town when he got there he bought 5 pokeballs with his saved money and then left the shop heading for pan road. 5 minutes later at the gates of the city Hydro suddenly noticed a small bird flying overhead it was white with some brown on its tail feathers with what looked like a sharp beak he took out his pokedex and pointed it towards the bird like pokemon the pokedex suddenly beeped and said in a recorded voice: "SPEAROW the tiny bird pokemon, Very protective of its territory, it flaps its short wings busily to dart around at high speed." "okay sounds like a good pokemon to have," said Hydro to himself "ok mantyke lets try and catch it, use bubble" the bubbles floated upwards and eventually hit the spearow and popped causing it to fall from the surprise, the spearow then retaliated with a peck which hit mantyke quite hard and threw it backwards "ok time for a two player game, tackle it back" mantyke got up and launched itself at the spearow and hit it as the bubble had slowed it down a bit "great job I think its ready for the pokeball" called Hydro as he got one out of his backpack, he then threw it which almost missed the spearow but mantyke tackled the spearow upwards so that the pokeball hit it the pokeball then rocked a bit before beeping. "Thanks mantyke I gotta work on my aim" said Hydro he then walked over and picked up the pokeball "we got a new team member" he said he then noticed it was dark "wow it was later than I thought, okay lets see if we go into the forest we'll have more shelter from the rain" he said talking to mantyke then made up his mind "to the forest at full speed!" he shouted and began to run with mantyke not far behind him as they ran they passed a few pokemon but Hydro couldn't make them out so he just continued to run, eventually he entered the forest where he slowed to a walk "hmm maybe we could sleep under that tree over there" he said pointing to a tall oak tree, mantyke made no objection so he went over and settled down between the roots mantyke went in between two others in a few minutes they were asleep...

As Hydro continued through the forest he saw a shroomish "ok mantyke use supersonic" said Hydro before covering his ears. The shroomish hearing the noise turned around and used absorb, luckily the supersonic had bounced off many of the trees and it was confused and absorbed its own health. "Okay hit it with a bubble now" mantyke responded by sending a stream of bubbles at the shroomish who by now was wondering why it didn't seem to be getting any health back, when the bubbles hit it it fell over and Hydro threw a pokeball at it this time hitting the pokemon first try. "Okay now I have a shroomish!" said Hydro proudly he then continued along the path.

walking over to the fisherman Hydro asked "what are you fishing for?". The fisherman replied "I'm trying to find a goldeen but so far its only been a bunch of poliwag, I have an old fishing pole with me if you want to try your luck, if you manage to catch something I'll let you have it" "ok I'll give it a shot" said Hydro casting the fishing pole into the lake. The fisherman noticed that it landed on a lily pad and said "bad luck its stuck on a lily pad" suddenly however the lilypad Moved and Hydro tugged on the pole sending a lotad flying towards him "spearow peck it upwards" called Hydro throwing spearows pokeball just below the lotad, when spearow burst out it flew upwards pecking at the lotad "ok now weedle string shot it and reel it in" he called dropping weedle's pokeball weedle burst out and aimed directly above the still ascending lotad who still didn't know what was going on. The stringshot hit dead on and wrapped around the lotad then weedle began to pull it back towards him. When it was on shore Hydro threw a pokeball at it which turned it into a beam of energy and sucked it in then rocked a bit as the lotad tried to break free, after a few seconds it stopped rocking and beeped. Hydro pulled out his pokedex and scanned lotad then the familiar robotic voice said: "Lotad, the water weed pokemon. It looks like an aquatic plant and serves as a ferry to Pokémon that can't swim." "ok now that I caught the lotad can I have the fishing pole?" asked Hydro. The fisherman answered "of course now I'm off" and with that the fisherman grabbed his stuff and walked off. It was only then that Hydro realised it was getting late "okay to the tent" said Hydro returning his pokemon and picking up lotad's pokeball then walking back to his makeshift tent and going to sleep.

Hydro walked up to the counter and rang the small bell on top of it, he then sat down in a chair and waited...

"Okay then some shed sunflora petals coming soon" said Hydro thanking the man and walking out mantyke following behind. "Mantyke do you have any idea where to find some sunflora? because if I find sunflora that will probably be where shed petals are." said Hydro. "Mantyke tyke mantyke tyke tyke. (translation: I don't know but maybe that blue thing you carry around does.) replied mantyke as they continued along the sidewalk. Hydro pulled out his pokedex to check where he could find sunflora as mantyke had suggested. The pokedex said: "sunflora are sometimes found at Sundance Plains but only during the gathering of the sundancers. However it is possible to catch sunkern there any time." Hydro after listening to his pokedex made up his mind "well if we go to sundance plain there is a chance we'll run into a sunflora or find old sunflora petals on the ground from last time sunflora were there. And saying that Hydro was off. As Hydro headed towards the plains he suddenly found a small triangular petal "this must be what we're looking for" said Hydro to mantyke "keep your eyes open for anything that looks like this" said Hydro showing the petal to mantyke before continuing eventually he stopped at the top of the only hill in the plains and sent out his pokemon "spearow, lotad, shroomish and weedle, if you see anything that looks like this" said Hydro showing them the petal "and it isn't on a sunflora's head then bring it back to this hill okay" continued Hydro and when all his pokemon nodded he said "I'll come back to the hill in half an hour, be careful" and with that Hydro walked down the hill and found a small petal at the bottom "looks just like the one I found" said Hydro as he picked it up. Meanwhile spearow was flying above and suddenly spotted something "spearow!" it called and swooped down to pick up a petal from the ground before someone stepped on it spearow then flew back to the hill and dropped it into the silk bag that weedle had made for the petals. And speaking of weedle, weedle had found a petal but it had blown onto a small house, weedle used stringshot to get it down then skittered back to the hill and put it into the bag.   mantyke too had found a petal however at the bottom of a small pond mantyke dived down to it and then came back up went to the hill and dropped it in.  Meanwhile lotad had found a petal but was having some difficulty getting it out of the wind it kept blowing away whenever lotad got close, lotad eventually tried using nature power and shot it down from the air with a bullet seed allowing it to drift down onto lotads water dish hat.   Lotad then went back to the hill and put it into the bag.  Shroomish too had found a petal and taken it back to the bag and now Hydro came up the hill and saw all his pokemon waiting for him "okay so you all found a petal?" Hydro said to the pokemon who nodded "great lets head back to the adoption center" and with that Hydro began to walk back to the building where he had gotten his current task.
