I don't know what to base it off of. I can picture these guys as an electrified version of the ReDeads from The Wind Waker. I don't know what else these could be yet.

Why do we need to have the split breed ball lightning?

I just liked the idea of a storm/lightning pokemon with a ball lightning relative, considering ball lightning is a rare phenomenon...Anyways, I made more humanoid art for these, so does anybody mind if I show them?

I got the pictures.

Voltergeist is supposed to 'break out' from the lightning and then control it as a Ghosquall. Tonnorb (?) is born deformed, and therefor can never gain enough power to break out of his electric prison. Yay, possible subjects for Dex Info!

voltergeist, ghosquall and tonnorbs dex info:

dex for voltergeist: this pokemon is constantly trying to break out of the lightning that it has been imprisoned in.
dex for ghosquall: having finally broken out of its thundery cage it now controls the storm.
dex for tonnorb (I like the name it is my choice now): having been sealed into the lightning by a sparking stone it can never break free.

You really need to learn how to make Dexes:

Tonnorb:
Having been sealed into a lightning prison by an electrified stone it can never break free. (91)

???
Voltergeist:
It is constantly trying to break out of the lightning that it has been imprisoned in. (85)

It absorbs energy from appliances until its prison can’t handle all of it and explodes. (87)
Ghosquall:

It has finally broken out of its thunder prison; giving it the ability to control it. (85)

It is often mistaken for a real thundercloud; so it uses this camouflage to scare those who do. (95)

You need to tell us more about these three for the other Dexes. Also, I'm not a big fan of Ghosquall's picture.

well voltergeist seems to absorb energy from appliances to get enough energy to break free
ghosquall is sometimes mistaken for an actual thundercloud

Try blending them together, make it look like the ghost is actually merged with the thundercloud. It looks weird when you have the top half of a ghost then suddenly there's a thundercloud there.

I'd say that the split evo is unnecessary. Split evos are a novelty that not every Pokemon needs. And it doesn't need to be based on anything other than a thundercloud really, as far as I know there isn't a Pokemon like it already, so what's the problem? Just because it's your personal preference for animal based pokes, FoW, it's not that a good reason for saying a suggestion is no good. Every game has it's pokes not based on animals, Muk, Magneton, Misdreavus, Castform, Drifloon, Spiritomb, Gears... Etc etc. And to be honest, some of those are favourites of mine. I think it could be a thundercloud and happily fit into the Indeterminate breeding group. They might not be to your individual tastes, but you can't deny that they look like Pokemon.

@Alex: I was just stating my opinion about this line. Nothing more, nothing less. That is indeed still allowed, is it not?

I cannot lie about this: I like my animal-based pokemon and have slight disdain to anything *not* based on them. So I will just leave this topic alone.

>_< It is not a split evo, but like Miaundead. If you breed it with/without a certain item, you end up with a misformed variety. Ball lightning is very rare, and I as such think there should be a pokemon based off of them, which would seem perfect if it came from a thundercloud pokemon.

Idea: what if tonnorb is sealed in by the stone in that the stone blocks its power to absorb energy. From that you could make a better dex such as: this pokemon has been sealed into a sphere of lightning and is unable to break free. 83
and then there is this: it is unable to absorb energy due to an electrified stone and is therefore trapped forever. 90

Oh yeah and I like the tonnorb and voltergeist pictures ghosquall needs a bit of a better splice.

The first is two characters too short. How about: This pokemon has been sealed into a sphere of lightning and is much to weak to break free. (89)
