*Sounds like Dexter* Volatolom, the Volatile Pokémon. Volatolom is constantly looking for energy particles, and glows happily when some are found.

We already have a pretty fleshed-out evolution line based on the traditional depiction of the atom, and I'd say that's enough. For some reason "plasma" comes to mind when I look at it. Perhaps its body is a furnace that superheats anything it consumes. It could be man-made or come from space.

@Darkwolf: When I did this, atom was not what came to mind. At all. Plasma is a good idea though...
@Cacapulse: No, it is organic. And if it isn't, it is definitely not a machine.

The name "Orbyte" (Orb+byte) just came to mind... don´t ask me why as I myself don´t know... And why is this not an inorganic pokémon?
Also I distinguish some black smoke, does this has poison or ghost qualities?

More of poisonish black smoke. HAng, on I got it. Orbyte was a normal breed of pokemon, captured by (Insert name of evil team who is related to the PFL storyline) and forced to put on an experimental armor. My guess for the above statement, it was originally a weak little pokemon.

Hmm... I don't think it'd be a good idea to drag an evil team into this. Smells of semi-legendary or something like that.

But I like the idea of a Pokémon that evolves with the Protector into this, becoming much stronger but perhaps sacrificing something else.

Ugh... I'm with cacapulse here, I like them with some... animal quantities, so to say.

Even though my voice won't matter much, I'll still say that I Don't like this. *rolleyes*

Okay, let's flesh this out a bit more... and these are not dexes.
First stage: A normal critter, with a ability to manipulate dimensions. The catch- this power is locked withen the deepest part of the brain and can only be activated through the subconscious.
Second stage (Orbyte): A mechanical shell has been placed around the pokemon, with a sync cord directly linked to the dimensional part of its brain. This stage is highly experimental and acesses other parts of the brain such as emotion, and the outlet is the interdimesional power.

How's this for an Idea?

I think manipulating dimensions would be a bit overkill, and also make this enough of a Portal reference to move it awfully close to SE/gag territory.

I was thinking that maybe this Pokémon's pre-evolution is very weak, but loveable and docile. It is usually kept as a pet instead of being used for fighting. But if you trade it with the Protector (or whatever the evolution method ends up being), it turns into this, battle-ready and efficient, but having lost its emotions. Thus it would force a sort of moral choice upon the trainer. It's just an idea.
