It was a work in progress, with several different Pokémon being considered; like Persian as Bast, Heracross as Khepri, Gardevoir as Isis, Luxray as Sekhmet, and Hippowdon as Taweret, among others. (So yeah, you guessed a bunch of 'em!) ... But my brother's DS was stolen a couple weeks ago, along with Pokémon Pearl, which contained pretty much all my trained Pokémon. So I'm gonna wait until Black/White to start forming any new teams.

For some reason, I get this feeling that the art style of B/W is much different than others. All of the 5th-Gen Pokemon look like Pokemon, but they just seem... different.
On topic, I like the new eagle Pokemon, Wooguru. He is awesome.

I love the new batch of pokemon!

I don't know what to believe, but I think serebii was right when it says the names of the goth and green thing got mixed up. Rankurusu was the green thing, after some attempts at decoding the name, I think it has parts of the words "plankton" and "virus" or "bacillus".
Gochiruzeru, on the other hand, seems to be a mixture of "gothic" and "angel" or "mademoiselle". That makes a lot more sense.

It seems Minezumi (The red-eyed one) is based on a gopher (horinezumi). Yay for no overlaps! Boo for similarity to Chubbunk!
