I keep checking back to PF out of habit, but I've really lost my inspiration... After the whole "Tesla's Toys" train-wreck.
I don't know if I will be participating in the community much any more.

Maybe I'll get back into it someday, but yeah, I dunno...

Inspiration is a weird thing - and it tends to come back when you least expect it. I've had huge breaks where I could not produce anything remotely creative (draw, write, even my ability to produce witty and sarcastic remarks was down!) for a good month or three. But sure as inspiration goes... it tends to come back. Last time I got my inspiration back after such a break, I got so overflooded with ideas that I practically drew three days straight... and produced one of the best sequences I ever did. This "comeback" happened at about 4am, three nights before New Year's, exactly when I least expected it...

My point is, don't write it all over just yet. One downer is not enough to kill a stubborn/creative mind, not even nearly so.

When life gives you lemons, you steal the sugar and put it on salt shakers.

That's a good idea Coolsteph, but sadly all three of my suggestions are unapproved so far so I can't make up any new'ns. :S Except in my own time, which I could do I suppose... I do churn out cool pokemons when I'm in the mood for it.

Also the lack of interest in my new website has got me really down...

Thanks for the advice FoW, I usually have a well of creativity, the only thing that really squashes it is people's disinterest and disapproval in it really. I suppose I should draw for myself and not others, but it doesn't work like that :P

It's part of the progress I guess, learning it the hard way that the only person you really can trust to have interest in your works is yourself. Drawing for yourself, having FUN drawing, that's the point for me, has pretty much always been. So for at least me(and I know my sister as well), it works exactly like that.

Drawing to seek attention or interest should only come as second - if even that. If you don't have fun drawing, what's really the point? (Incidentally, this is the reason I could probably never make a living out of being an artist...)

But, each to one's own.

Same thing happens to me all the time. I just use up all my ideas then take some time for something to come to me. Hope you get some ideas soon.

I mostly think writing is my thing. But not at all ... Maybe gaming? Yes. That. lol.

Anyways I'm here to cheer you, since you seem depressed by the words you are writing. I cannot feel it however, it was just a bluff.

Oh don't get me wrong, I enjoy it heaps!!!

I guess it;s just that my drawing are like my babies and I love them, so it hurts when other people don't :P

Inspiration comes when it does. Take me, for example. If I actually try to think of a Pokemon, I get nothing. I've gotten all of my ideas just doing something else. I got the idea of Drek while I was taking water samples at a fairly polluted river. (Don't ask) I saw a bar of steel stuck in the mud at the bank, and thought, "Hey! What would happen if Grimer got metal in him!" Seriously, that's how I think. All of my other ideas I've gotten during school, since I tend to not pay attention. I got the idea for the giants while reading a book of mythology, and the cannons during History class. Just wait. You'll get something. If my ideas get approved, I've got at least three more ready.

Mine are all awaiting approval, so the only way to use my creativity on this site is to offer concept art for other people's suggestions. That's why I created Hypotheticus Zoo, so I could exercise my creativity more. But no one's using it so it's not really working.

Basically, a whole lot of Suggest a Pokemon topics had their names changed to include "Awaiting Approval." It resulted in a second mass topic title change, courtesy of ShinE, and a new topic forbidding doing so again. This could easily go down the same way.

I think advertising my website is a bit different to the whole Awaiting Approval thing, but I'm pretty sure the Staff don't appreciate people using their forums for free advertising, so yeah. It being in my Signature should be enough.

Another way of inspiration....perhaps eating a hamburger? I think I have made a creature once by looking at the silhouette in hamburger juice. Or, was it steak....? Well, determining shapes from random patterns in substances.
