I can't speak for the rest of the staff, but here's my opinions on that list:

Clefable, I suppose I could understand the reasoning for, what with it having an elusive, almost mythical basis, as well as Metronome. Delibird, I suppose the move Present would be the only basis there, which is not nearly enough to override the strong ties to Ice and Flying. It is a penguin, after all, and makes good use of both types (I know penguins don't fly, but apparently Delibird does). Gardevoir, it's whole concept is about the psychic sensing of emotions, not magic. Alakazam's cencept is about telekinesis and teleportation, not magic. Natu and Xatu are about psychic precogonition, and being birds. Loosing either the Psychic or Flying type would not be suitable. Grumpig...I'm not quite sure what they're focused on. Judging by their pokedex info, hypnosis or mind control, perhaps? Either way, there's no real rationale for Magic, either. Milotic is about being a beautiful sea serpent, I see no magic in that, either. Absol is about disasters, an inherently Dark subject. It senses natural disasters through reading signs in the changes in nature, not through mystical means.
