Yeah, well for some strange reason, it seems to only be a temporary stat boost. The evolution from the grub to the cocoon is ended after at least a day, because by then the nutrients run out, and the little guy returns to his normal state. Plus, the Mexican Jumping Bean is actually a grub in a cocoon made out of a bean, that moves around in its cocoon by jumping, or in our amateur aviator's case, a berry. Essentially, it would evolve into a moth-like creature, but the berry can't last it long enough to do that, so it just uses it for defense and to gain a few extra bonuses. Essentially, it's a creature that's supposed to evolve, but has adapted to do the exact opposite. I suppose that if one levels it up enough within the span of a day, you could turn him into a professional airhog.... I'll look into it, but I think the ability to evolve in no longer programmed into the creature, just being able to get some cool perks from nesting in a berry.

ZOMGZ! The cocooned grub evolved! I got him to be strong enough (at least Lvl. 15, it was hard, but I'm estimating you'll have to level him up five times in the Beandle form to get him to this guy) on the nutrients in the berry, the little guy turned into a moth like creature, looking similar to his previous form. He looked like a modern jet plane, complete with stylish red-and-black look. Of course, it suffers the same curse as the cocooned grub, after a day of fun battling random critters, the Pokemon (which, by the way, I'm called Bearon (Bean+Baron, a reference to the Red Baron)) degenerated back into a grub, his wings falling off, along with his shimmering scales, leaving him the same as he was at the start, and a little sadder to boot.
To clarify: It evolves, but, in reality, it's so awkward to acheive and so temporary that it's more along the lines of a glorified stat boost.

Well, its like a deal. So, you evolved your guy. You've got one day to make him stronger by five levels, and when you fully evolve him, you have one day to (warning: nerdrage) TOTALLY DESTROY ALL IN YOUR PATH!!!!!! (woof, had to let that out) and then BAM! he's back to what you started with, albeit stronger. Got it? This is a unique Pokemon because of its limited-time-based requirements for evolution.
