Actually Alex, that looks even more deformed to me... The reason the arm is shorter is because of foreshortening - now it doesn't look like Lombrage is pointing in the manner I intended. Oh well.
@Rahjet: See, although that does use two things somewhat related to it, Lombrage isn't a Caribbean pokemon - it goes around on lakes. And you don't really get "hombre" in there just from putting "bre," so it doesn't sound natural. It also looks like you would would pronounce it "car-ai-bur."We wanted something that reflects its fits of rage and pompous, showy attitude, along with the plant-ness and that its hispanic.

What SoR and I decided on is that I reply to things regarding the names and art, since I did both of those, and he does everything else. And of course, if he does, for example, like Caribre, then it's entirely his choice.

I just want ti point out there are some things with just as little change from Lombre to Lombrage - Pidgeotto to Pidgeot, Paras to Parasect, Tentacool and Tentacruel.

Okay, there's ones that aren't form 1st gen too - Lanturn, Sunkern, Castform, Luvdisc, Kricketune... Whatever, I personally am quite attached to Katanaroot just because it does flow very nicely and we've used this exact same argument to get names approved before when I was on the opposite side in the topic with the pots that Only Always had.
SoR has the final say though.

The thing is, the main part of him actually isn't being a pirate, it's being showy and pompous and throwing fits of rage. The beard part makes him sound too serious and gruff, like he might actually do harm to people. :P
I'm glad you support us on Katanaroot though, that's exactly what I thought.
