"Hmph." Fynn smirked. Another Gym, eh? Well that meant the vacancy was filled. He would just have to remove that trainer from office. But of course, that meant he would have to be recognized by the league. Fynn now looked downtrodden. He had a long journey ahead of him.

Realizing he may have been causing a bit of a show, Fynn regained his composure and smirked again. "Hah. Another Flying type lover? Well then I suppose I must treat you with somewhat more respect. But I am somewhat perturbed by the fact that you assume I know not of the choices you have here. Youthistle, Comolten, Sukus, Holliguana, Xoskillitn, Ninemone, Nutreed, Agunni, Cherippo. Yes, I know all of them, and I also know NONE OF THEM TURN INTO FLYING TYPES." Fynn leaped forward, using his unusually long legs to tower over the professor, his "respect" gone. "You will soon see I am not your run-of-the-mill trainer." he pronounced. "I assume you are Professor Idaho's aide, ah... Aaron, yes. I know of his departure - that is why I have come to take the vacant gym slot." Fynn growled. "I suppose I must also take the league challenge now that I am here, if I wish to become a leader. But of course this Flying leader is in-" and here Fynn's composure melted, his eyes becoming dreamy - "Nidivum Town? That wondrous place of birds?"

Realizing he was once again acting somewhat odd, Fynn became stoic once more. "As I have told you, I am no ordinary, misinformed trainer. Thus, I know properly that you also have Random options, and that this is the only way I may gain a Flying type companion." With this, he gesticulated dramatically towards Aaron's desk, which had on it 10 groups of pokeballs - 9 of the 10 had a flame, water, or leaf insignia with a roman numeral numbering I through III on them. The last group had nothing on them. "Those are your Random pokemon, and it is one of them I will have!" Fynn rushed past the professor briskly, and seized one of the unmarked for himself. He threw it into the air wildly, looking upwards.
"Come out, my flying beauty!"

Fynn was nonplussed by this event. Although he had been a trainer for years, he had never had a Shiny pokemon. Forgetting his surroundings, he quickly shuffled over to the pokemon and scooped it up. "I'm sorry..." he whispered uncharacteristically. "I'm used to things that can fly, and you can't, and..." He then noticed that the Nincada was almost entirely unharmed by the fall. "Huh." He murmured, his tone lightening. "Looks like you're a pretty tough little guy. Hmm... Nincada... evolves into Ninjask. Quite a valuable pokemon. A good Baton Passer... yes. You'll be a great partner." He was beaming now, and still cradling his Nincada. "Don't you worry, little gu-" Fynn paused. How was he sure it was a guy?!

Visibly flustered by his own stupid actions, the Nincada's shiny coloration and the dilemma in front of him, Fynn turned to Aaron. Realizing that for the past minute he had been hunched over murmuring to a bug, he quickly resumed his rude attitude. "Yo professor guy, have anyway I can find out about this little gu- pokemon?"

(OOC: YES. Thank you Pory. This is perfect for Fynn's character, and I enjoy the shiny aspect as well. Perhaps Fynn will keep the Shedinja that he will receive eventually, since it effectively has the Levitate ability as well.)

"Fine then," Fynn mumbled as he recalled his Nincada. He walked over to the large machine at the side of the room, and placed Nincada's pokeball there. Immediately it whirred to life.

Fynn was stunned. His mouth hung open. "You have to be f***ing kidding me..." he moaned. "YOU are the Flying-type leader? Guh..." he buried his head in his hands for a minute, then adopted a fighting stance, his legs spread wide. "Aaron! From now on you are my rival! I swear upon my family's honor that I will defeat you!" He grinned savagely. As if he cared about that stupid sister of his's honor. But at the same time he was quite excited. He finally had a purpose in this region. "Aaron. I know you won't fight me, a new trainer, with all your strength... but I will return when I can honestly challenge you, and I will take your place. Fynn seized Nincada's pokeball from the machine and tossed it out onto the field. "Nemesis!" he barked. "That will be your name. Aaron, in honor of this rivalry I have initiated, I will name my partner this to signify it!" The Nincada chittered and skittered around rapidly, mirroring the fury of his trainer.

Fynn gritted his teeth. The two things he had inherited from his family were a love of the air... and flashiness.
He flaunted it.
"Jump." he commanded in a clear, high voice. Nemesis launched himself upwards, knowing exactly what was going on, and stayed airborne desperately for just as long as possible using its tiny wings. The anger coursing through Fynn departed, leaving him only with a berserk energy. However, he held it under control, commanding calmly. "Now." Nemesis fell gracefully, onto Nevermore, who had had to swoop low to hit the tiny bug. Presently, Nemesis latched both its back claws onto the raven for a better grip. "Din't waste this chance! Take advantage with Scratch!" Nemesis's claws glowed white, and he flung them towards his quarry below.

Fynn cringed as Nemesis was smashed into the ground.
"Hahaha! If you're to be my rival, it's good to see that you have some innovation!" Fynn's eyes were gleaming as he gritted his teeth and thought of a way to turn this around. He noticed in a moment that Nemesis, endowed with good ol' doggone stuborn grit, was still holding on, although its eyes were closed shut tight from the pain. "Nemesis, steer into the wall! DOn't let it control its flight!" As Nemesis veered towards the wall, Fynn relaxed a bit. "Now jump!"
He wasn't a monster. He didn't want his pokemon hurt, despite his desperate techniques.
Nemesis took a leap, and Fynn tensed up again, hoping for the best in this aerial battle where he had no wings.

"Nemesis, dodg-" Too late. The poor Nincada was pierced by the PEck, taking heavy damage. "Ah... No! Come on, Nemesis! Keep going! Leech Life!
Nemesis heard his trainer and responded, jumping a bit woozily before darting its claws towards the fatigued little raven. Nevermore looks about to go down... even a not-very effective move will work now, so regaining health is the only option. If it doesn't go down now...
